I prefer this to the round ones...
I have one of the original round ones that were on Dragon's Den and I really like it - I actually think this one is better designed so it's getting the same 5 stars as I gave to the original. My dog is used to using them and he seems to like this one better, he uses this rather than his proper water bowl (which is kind of annoying since it's meant to live in the car!).It seems sturdy so far, it seems easy to clean and Rupert the pup certainly gives it five stars (I think he likes the feeling of the holes on his tongue when he licks it).So yep! Great dog water bowl, and good for the back of a car.(If you find this review helpful, please click the helpful box, it'll keep me motivated to write reviews.)

Not puppy proof..so much mess
This is definitely not spill or puppy proof. I linked the video, initially I filled it up but then she was literally splashing in the dish, and the floating part made it more fun..I then removed some water but as you can see in the video she picked it up, dumped all the water on the floor then pulled the rim off it. Not safe for puppies, also one of the rubber feet came off and I found her chewing on it...choking hazard! I will be returning this, not a good design at all.

Design needs more thought
I bought this for my 12 week old gsd puppy. The water didnāt come through the holes fast enough for her so she put her foot in it and pressed the float down. Excited by this she brought the second foot into play and the retaining float ring flipped out allowing all the parts to be disassembled and water to go everywhere. The whole thing is easy to clean and assemble but the design is flawed as being square the four retaining points are required to be very shallow and offer very little resistance to the top bit coming off. A far better design would have been to make it circular so that the top retainer could then have been a rotating circular push down and twist affair allowing larger and stronger lugs, of greater number, to keep it in place. (A kind of bayonet arrangement) as it is, there are only four points holding it on and it relies on the plastic to flex, which it does quite easily. It is very light when there is little water left so easy to turn over. The idea sounds great but it needs more work and comment from our furry friends before this will pas muster!

Don't buy if you have a smart dog!
I'm sure this is a great water dish for a dog who's content to just drink water BUT if your dog a) loves to play in water, and b) can figure out that if you take a paw and push the floating plate down really hard, the water will shoot out the holes -then maybe this dish isn't for you or your furry friend!

Best purchase for sloppy drinkers!
Absolutely love this bowl and iām raving about it to everyone! My german shepherd drips water everywhere when she drinks and I always end up standing in water, especially when Iāve just put on some cosy socks šThis bowl is a gamechanger, the floor rarely has a drop of water on it now, thereās not water splashing everywhere when my dog drinks, doesnāt spill when you carry it, looks really nice and just as easy to clean as a normal water bowl! Some people have asked if it gets dirty? No, not more than a normal water bowl, my dog sometimes drops food in but the top rim just clips on and off so, super easy to clean! Also my dog picked it up straight away, didnāt have any trouble getting her to use it. I mean if a dog is thirsty and sees a drop of water they will lick it up, whether itās a bowl or plate or on the floor, especially if it is where their water normally is. (most dogs anyway)Overall this is one of the best things I got for my dog (and my soaking socks) so I definitely recommend especially for big slobbery dogs!
