Star Trek The Original Series celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and to celebrate, QMx is bringing everyone's favorite captain to Trek collectors everywhere! The most notorious Starfleet captain in Federation history, James Tiberius Kirk, commanded the starship Enterprise on its original voyage. This 1:6 figure recreates the iconic character in exquisite detail. Standing approximately 12 inches tall, every detail -- from his 23rd century tunic to his pointy black shoes -- was researched and overseen by Star Trek scholar Nanjin Tam. The original portrait sculpt of William Shatner as Kirk is the best representation of the actor ever created for a collectible. Each figure comes with multiple hands for various Trek-like activities: Right Phaser 2 Hand: Perfectly holds the pistol grip Type 2 Phaser. Right Phaser 1 Hand: Allows for the small Type 1 Phaser to be held for accurate aiming. Left Communicator Hand: Holds the communicator to request speedy beam ups. Left Holding Hand: Sized to hold Kirk's electronic clipboard Right Karate Chop Hand: For disabling misbehaving aliens with a quick blow to the back of the neck. Right Pointing Hand: When Kirk needs to make an emphatic point. Star Trek Delta Symbol Display Base: A custom display base featuring the familiar Star Trek "delta" symbol will hold up the figure and allow more extreme poses.

Congrats to Quantum Mechanix- Perfect representations of our beloved friends!!!
Wow! I'm a 62 year old lifetime Star Trek TOS fan, and I was privileged to be able to tour the Trek sets in the 60's. My father, who had a very progressive sporting goods store, sold the studio Dr. McCoy's spray bottle surgical instruments as well as the Chariot used in Lost in Space to Irwin Allen Productions. The Chariot started life as a glorified snowmobile, and was dressed up by the studio to fit the part. Anyway, I have had a lot of Trek collectibles over the years. But I was a bit hesitant to spend so much money on "dolls" (especially since I'm a married guy). After several days of thought, I went ahead and bought both Kirk and Spock. I'm not the slightest bit sorry that I did! Quantum Mechanix has truly outdone themselves. The detail is stunning, and both figures truly and completely represent the original actors, something I've never seen before in figures- ceramic, china, plastic or otherwise. Completely poseable, lifelike in every way and with facial features that really make you look twice. Absolute perfection- in my book anyway. The attention to detail is suburb, and the communicators even have metal antenna grids. The phasers separate into two parts as did the original props, and Spock's tricorder is perfectly proportioned. The advertising pictures of the figures look good, but in person, they are far better. In the promo pics, the uniform material looks a little off (seeming a bit out of proportion), but in actuality, the material is perfect. Perfect tunic top, perfect pants and even perfect shoes! I'm planning on displaying both figures in black shadow boxes, and will hang them on the wall in my office. A truly great purchase, and my highest compliments to Quantum Mechanix, who sensitively and accurately portrayed these two characters that are so beloved to us Trekkers. When I get the shadow boxes done, I'll post pics. My best to all! UPDATE: 10/03/16- Pictures posted below. Sorry for the bad photography!

The absolute best, most realistic of the articulated figures I've seen that don't cost upwards to $1000.00.
These Quantum Mechanix figures are amazingly realistic. They actually look like the person the package declares them to be! Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy of "Star Trek TOS" look like they could speak to you and you would hear their voices. You can't though. They are complete with the shadow of beards and the worry or age lines in their faces and around their eyes, so they don't look like boys. The hands of these figures are extraordinary. The best I've ever seen. The hands are to scale with the figure unlike so many other less expensive figures, and they move in a way so you can reproduce a pose you want. Mr. Spock is very good too, but his face is a little long or narrow, I haven't decided which yet, to be as perfect as the other two figures, and that may be my own perception of Spock. I also saw the figure of the Captain of the "Firefly" series and he is as realistic as Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy. The articulation of the limbs and heads can move almost as smoothly as a real person, then stay in place. Don't panic if ta hand pops off while you are manipulating them. They go right back on. Why are they made this way? Because (and this is the cool part), the figures come with multiple hands in different positions, both left and right and they will swivel untl you have them where you want them. So do the heads turn and move forward and back. They are expensive, but if you like your figures to have realism then this is the way to go especially if these are going into miniature scene reproductions. Why spend all the time, work and money to create a set if they still don't look like the real person when you are finished? I can say this now that I've found Quantum Mechanix. I would happily present them to the people the figures are representing without apology. The clothing and weaons, communicators and other equipment look great too and also are size proportionate. No I don't own part of this company, darn it. I wouldn't call these little kids toys because there are too many parts that might get lost and because of the expense which veries according to the figures' popularity. Sorry, they are not real miniature people so they won't take themselves out of their boxes and baby sit your kids for you. Maybe you can tell your little ones there real and that hey will believe it? Ha ha, just a joke. I am spoiled for all time and will wait until I can afford one of these before buying substandard figures again unless they get priced outside my market price. Of course, I'm a perfectionist now that I have these figures available. There are limited choices and they are approximately twelve inches tall or 1/6th scale depending on the character they are reproducing to scale obviously. No, really, I don't own any part of this company, but I wish I did and I hope they extend their line. 3D scanned for accuracy. I love my Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy. I've had these figures for about two weeks. They haven't been placed in their scenes yet, but I've moved them and posed them a lot. Sorry I don't have the knowledge to take and post a photo or I would happily do so.

Craftsmanship is wonderful! From the face (which is spot-on, and the first feature considered before possible purchase) to the uniform and accessory details, a gorgeous piece of work. I also bought Spock from this collection, and look forward to QM's future ST:TOS releases.
