The Spice Way Chamomile Flowers - (1 oz) Loose Dried Chamomile

I am making soap now and these pretty flowers dress the bars nicely. I feel they were a good value nice quality and function well to make the soaps look pretty.

Any drink that is made from herbal ingredients is a tisane and not a tea. Tea only comes from two main varieties of the camellia sinensis evergreen. Nevertheless, this tisane is excellent. The chamomile dried flower buds are fresh and fragrant and brew to a pale lemon hue. The flavor is balanced and light. There is some sediment at the bottom of the pouch, but that is to be expected. I do wish the pouch was not clear so that this is not exposed to light.I brewed the chamomile with boiling water and steeped two teaspoons for 6 minutes. There are no instructions on the package on how to brew this. The only ingredient is chamomile but the package says this may contain traces of tree nuts, wheat, peanuts, and soybeans.The current price of $5.99 for 1 ounce is on the high side of competitively priced and is about $2 more per ounce than this excellent chamomile tisane. If the price were cheaper, instructions were printed on the package, and the pouch was not clear on one side, this would have received 5 stars from me.

Chamomile is one of those flowers I grow because every year I have good intentions to harvest the flower. I never do and end up purchasing chamomile flowers to make teas.I have used Spice Way spices before. It is a company that I have grown to trust for having a good quality spice.This is one ounce of dried chamomile flowers. It is in a resealable bag. Clear back. To look through the back, I can see many whole flowers, there is some powder from the flower crumbling I assume.I use chamomile flowers in teas. When someone is ill, I make my own blend of nettle, peppermint and chamomile. To try this, I brought to boil 3/4 cup of water and poured it over 1 heaping tablespoon of chamomile flowers. I let it sit for a few minutes. No more than 5 minutes.Putting the chamomile flowers in the tea strainer, they are beautiful flowers. Some I buy are small tiny flowers. These are a good sized flower.Pouring the water over them released the calming fragrance of the chamomile. It is a delicate fragrance and smells exactly how I expect it to.To taste it, chamomile flower tea is a delicate flavor. I can taste the flower and is exactly as I expect. There is no odd flavor in them. Just the sweetness and floral flavor of the chamomile flower. This is a floral tea that I don't always put honey in, but adding honey added a nice sweetness to it though it did overtake the chamomile flavor a little. I prefer a cup of chamomile unsweetened.

This is a smooth relaxing tea, we brewed the tea in hot water and the team came out smooth and has a faint sweet taste to it. We normally drink bagged chamomile, this is our first try of loose chamomile and is very happy with the quality and flavor. Great value tea, recommended!
