I have a very large and deep sink that is great when entertaining and I have a lot of dishes and pots to rinse before I load to run the dishwasher. Most days, I don't use enough dishes to run the dishwasher, and using my faucet to constantly rinse small stuff, I find I'm using too much water. The collapsible basin allows me to rinse the few things I have and leave them in my dishwasher until it is full. Saving water and electricity helps me and the environment at the same time. GOOD PRODUCT!
