Really easy to use. There’s a video on their website that makes it all really clear. I actually watched it after I had carved out the slots as it’s pretty common sense. Get yourself a craft knife and just take your time. After all , you only have to do it once right? The foam is quite stiff and really holds your gear in nicely. Great product. Will be ordering more.

I was so looking forward to tidying all my Makita Makpac boxes with these inserts. Thank goodness I only bought one initially to try out.I watched all the videos on how best to cut them before they arrived and all was fine cutting out the initial thin layer of black foam around the tool.The big problem for me and why I've given it such a poor rating is it's next to impossible to get a neat finish from the 'layers' below. First of all you need the strength of Hercules to peel back the foam and then they never seem to peel exactly at a layer leaving you not with a flat bottom to place your tools on but something more akin to the surface of the moon.I ended up just cutting all the way through the foam and using a second uncut piece to get a neat finish. In that respect these are very poor value for money.
