The pillows arrive vacuum packed. I only mention this because the box they come in (I bought 2 for each side of the bed) is so small I thought I messed up and only ordered one lol. I let the pillows sit out flat for about 48hrs. and they were thick and firm by the time I placed them on the bed.After reading some of the reviews here, I think the big issue people have is that they didn't order the right pillow for their frame or what is consistent with what they are used to. So far, I love this pillow. I got the extra thick version even though I am not over 6ft. I just know I like a nice firm pillow, and I am used to sleeping with at least two pillows under my head to give me the desired/needed height. It's very supportive and keeps it's shape while I sleep. I think it's size is wonderful. I toss and turn sometimes, so it is nice to have a pillow that is consistent in thickness throughout. Unlike most "side-sleeper" pillows that are thick in the middle and taper out towards the sides. I don't have to worry about hitting that sweet spot of support if I should move or worry about my head rolling down one of the tapered ends while I sleep. Although, so far I don't seem to be /haven't been moving in my sleep. I'm not sure if that is a coincidence or pillow related. I would certainly recommend for any true side sleeper.

I bought the 6" version because I have very large shoulders. Typically, my old pillows would shift and fail to support my neck (I always had to use a couple of pillows because a single pillow would be way too thin to support my neck). Additionally, the Pillow Cube's shape prevents it from pushing my CPAP nasal mask off my face while I'm sleeping. I'm getting better sleep now due to the neck support, and have eliminated my neck pain and headaches. I highly recommend this product if you're a side sleeper and are looking for a pillow which offers good neck support, and I doubly recommend this if you're using CPAP with a nasal mask or full face mask!

My initial attraction to the Pillow Cube was its firmness. I have sleep apnea, and I had noticed that my favorite pillow at the time, while comfortable, was breaking my mask seal, diminishing the quality of PAP therapy. Since switching to this pillow, my therapeutic pressure and leak rate are lower, and I've retired the other one.As a 6'1" man with an armspan of 6'7", the Xtra Thick Side Sleeper Pro is the only pillow I've used that seems to ensure I remain on my side through the night. My initial sessions with the pillow were a little mixed: although it was comfortable enough, I woke up a couple of times. I was happy to find it easy to go back to sleep, but I then ordered the travel version of the pillow in its standard size to see if it might be more optimal. After a little trial and error, I've found that the taller size suits my broad shoulders better, prevents me from sleeping--or at least waking--in a supine position, and supports a complete, unbroken night's sleep now that I'm used to it.According to my last sleep test, following a surgical procedure which reduced my AHI by about two thirds, I have positional sleep apnea which is negligible or nonexistent in side positions. I've fallen asleep without using the mask a few times with this pillow and perhaps a dozen times in total over the last year. What I've found on those occasions with this pillow is that I feel pretty close to normal in the morning; with any other pillow, I would characterize the feeling as similar to a hangover. This supports my impression that the pillow both facilitates and encourages side sleeping, at least as long as you choose the appropriate height for your clavicle length and shoulder size. Another reviewer suggests that this pillow will not be comfortable if you don't have a large head, but I don't think that's true. My cranial dimensions are unremarkable and my jaws are underdeveloped (that's probably why I have sleep apnea despite a lifelong thin build), but I'm perfectly happy with it.

I’ve had my eye on this pillow for awhile, but kept talking myself out of it because of the high price tag. After waking up with a headache 4 days in a row, I finally decided to order it.Worth. Every. Penny.It’s firm and doesn’t squish too much when you lay on it, but is still soft enough so it doesn’t crush your ear. It also doesn’t scrunch up around your nose and mouth so you have to tip your head up or down to breathe like with many other pillows. As soon as I laid down, my neck felt comfortable and relaxed, and that continued through the night. I can feel that my neck is more supported at the back and at my shoulder than with my old pillow. No weird smell. And no headache this morning!!I have some neck issues and get headaches easily is I have any kind of neck or shoulder tension.I’m 5”6’, but I bought the extra large because I sleep on a very firm mattress and I tend to like my pillows on the higher side. I can see how this pillow wouldn’t be for everyone, but I love it and am so excited that I FINALLY found a great pillow after a lot of wasted time and money searching.

I ordered the extra thick pillow after I measured my existing pillow with its extra lift. It was too high & very uncomfortable. After some surgery with a scalpel, I removed an inch, reducing it to 5 inches. Better. Order according to your height like they recommend if you decide to purchase. This pillow is very soft, not at all like I was expecting. It is also hot which is the opposite of the advertising. The pillow cover is unusable after it is removed cause there was no way I was ever going to get the pillow back inside it. It's not a regular pillowcase. For the price I paid , I expected a better experience. I would have returned it but being a homebound person there was no way for me to do that. Not happy. You may like the pillow but I was not impressed.
