Norseman's Revenge (The Norsemen Sagas) Paperback – March 18, 2016

I enjoyed the characters in this story, even the bad guys. This was a well written and wonderfully presented book that I will keep in my collection to read again.

Gianna Simone has created an entertaining and highly romanticized tale about a chieftain's daughter whose fate is forever tainted and irreparably altered by the evil deeds of another. The man to whom her father just gave her up in an arranged marriage has a dark and foul past which quickly catches up with him. Sadly, his entire clan, including his new wife, will pay dearly for his sins.Geira is a strong female lead who is wise enough to make the best of an incredibly bad situation. She quite reasonably struggles with her new lowly rank of slave and the surprising passions that awaken in the midst of her new reality. Kori is a dark anti-hero who is hellbent on vengeance, no matter who must suffer. He introduces Geira to unexpected heights of passion, as well as dark depths of shame.Me. Simone skillfully creates a fictional, romanticized setting based on the harsh realities of the period to allow these two an opportunity to explore their own natures and unlikely connection. I must say, the modern woman in railed at the harsh injustice of Geira's fate, while the fan of erotic chemistry, that only BDSM-like relations can create in modern settings, avidly celebrated Kori's absolute possession of his conquest.Me. Simone makes no apologies for the violence and inhumane reality that faced the conquered when war-faring men old would go a "Viking". The ugly truths of the time, namely pillaging, rape, plunder and slavery, are readily acknowledged as part of the social fabric of the times, yet these horrors are not crammed down the reader's throat. Instead, she weaves a tale of unexpected connection, dark desires, and an opportunity to squeeze a bit of joy into the dire human condition of olden times.ENTERTAINING AND NAUGHTY READ! 4.5 STARS. I can't wait to read the book in the series.

Couldnt stop reading, such a great exciting story had me on edge the whole time. A great read i highly recommend

I felt as though this was mostly an erotic novel and the plot was secondary. While I liked the characters and I found the story entertaining, I never got emotionally involved in their lives. I never really learned enough about them to care. The story mostly takes place in the moment except for a few events that explain current behaviors. We know very little of the characters childhoods, so while they are developed to some degree, it never gets too deep. Most of what takes place is of a sexual nature, which was pretty steamy and fun, but not enough for me to consider this more than a three star read.

This is the first book I've read from this author. I had my doubts, but the book does not disappoint. It has great twists, turns! Just as I thought I had figured it out, BAMB!The steamy scenes were well done, but graphic, so you've been warned if that offends you. I will be continuing to read this author, good entertainment.

I enjoyed the story line, but some books are not for me. I'm only going to put this out there so that if you are like me and don't desire to read books like this you will know. I don't want to read about two brothers sharing a woman. Not my cup of tea, but otherwise I enjoyed everything else.

This was my first time reading a book by this author and it will be my last. I stumbled into something that I felt should have been described better by reviewers and in the book description.This is not a romance. This is a book about a lady turned sex slave with no brain and no skills except that every man she encounters wants to keep her and have sex with her night and day.On the night of her wedding she is stolen by a vengeful viking and sleeps with him that same night with barely a protest and enjoys it thoroughly...no thoughts for all of her family and the villagers who were just slaughtered. She thinks...he killed my husband but can't bring herself to care at all but instantly likes the supposed hero within 5 minutes after she watched him murder her husband. I hate to be harsh but she is a brainless twit that not only is happy to let the hero use her body she also lets his brother sleep with her and she enjoys it and was looking forward to it for a section of the book.Next, when they are not having sex the hero is pulling her around by a collar and a rope, she branded as his slave and required to kneel at his feet throughout the entire book. Which this doesn't bother her at all...because she is so happy to have sex with the hero she will stay his slave and have no dignity.She acts like she has been a slave her entire life and not the daughter of a chieftain. She is disrespected by everyone she encounters even her own former lady in waiting whom she saves from death. On every page we are reminded that she is a slave, she is not a person and she beneath them lowest of low.This has been one of the worst books I have ever encountered. I was only able to make it through 60% and that was only so I could read enough to warn others as I wished someone had done for me. I need a refund.

I typically read murder mysteries and needed a break from that genre. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance, story line and characters. I found myself reading through this novel very quickly. The historical research of the time period is evident and added to the interest of this reader. At the end, I wanted more - so looking forward to the next Norseman Saga that I'm saving for vacation. Will definitely be checking out the rest of the work from this author whose content is unique and creative.
