TERADA KATSUYA SKETCH

Bought this as a present, and then for myself. Great quality, beautiful drawings, good for anyone looking to get inspiration out of it or anyone into art/anime/adult animation. Note that, although portrayed in an artistic/non-sexualized fashion, some of the drawings do contain partial nudity. So take that into consideration if you care about that. Also this is NOT a series or a manga or a comic. It's a compilation, so don't expect a story or much in the sense of written words.

This book is so cool, Terada's sketches are such an inspiration. The amount of detail in each illustration, as well as the expression of each one, is exceptional.

Book is well make with good stock paper. Art is gorgeous. Absolutely great for those who like stylization of their art.

I purchase several sketch books from big name artists and Terada was no different. His work put me into a drawing bender to the point where my hand was so sore from drawing and experimentation I had to stop myself for a whole day just to recuperate. Just glancing through the sketch book will motivate you to draw, it's hard to explain what it does to you psychologically but it will give you tons of motivation and inspiration that is non stop. He has a very gritty style in some of the drawings and other's are technical masterpieces which are a mix of the Asian style artwork and cyber punk meeting somewhere in the middle. His artwork sort of reminds me of GI but in a different way. The illustrations and each drawing seems to be on a different type of paper in the sketch book. Who does that? Love it because its so unique most sketch books are all one type of paper, not this beast. For the price point and the quality of the sketchbook don't even match, the quality of this sketch book you would expect to spend at a minimum of a 100 bucks. This one far surpasses the price point and its quality in both construction and the quality of the artwork it contains. If you are into drawing, I am telling you pull the trigger on this one, you will not be sorry. I even started to look into obtaining his older sketchbooks because his style feels so unique and not copies of what other artists do.

The reason for four stars is because it is not protected. It is not laminated with transparent paper and that means that the sheets are not protected and look used, especially if it is for a gift. They should think about that, when it comes to books. Other than that, it's beautiful and worth buying.

If your into or wanting to get into line drawing, or just enjoy viewing line drawings then this is a great book. The book is full of drawings. A lot of them are similar. If drawings had a genre, and maybe the do, then all the drawings in this book would be of the same genre. If you like what you see in the preview images and in other reviews then you will want to get this book as the other drawings are of the same quality and aesthetics. I'm not sure on the quality of the binding yet. The binding feels loose and there are different kinds of paper. The book has held up so far and I've been through it a few times and bent the spine at certain places where I wanted it to stay open. Its a really thick book.

Amazing art. It's really nice to have such a huge collection of drawings in one single book. Totally worth the price and its a MUST if you like Terada's works.

The book is just the right size to enjoy Terada San's art. It has a fantastic variety of sketches and these are printed so well. The paper quality and the presentation further enhances the experience of actually looking into a real sketchbook. The amount of sketches presented is just right to avoide fatigue as sometimes too many sketches in one book tend to keep the browsing experience a bit bizzare as the brain can not soak it all at once. Love Terada sans work and glad they curated this lovely book which is surely a book to visit and revisit from time to time.

Terada Katsuya's Sketch Book shows symbolism and mythic messages. Most likely Terada likes leaving messages in his drawings. His work is daunting, confronting, probably not for children. On the level of sheer imagination and hardcore work ethic, his work while stunningly beautiful is many times not of this world. Like he see's into the cosmos. Dragons everywhere. Hero's, beautiful Ladies and the ironic. Definitely inspiring, glad I have it. Like a puzzle not completed , this book will keep you coming back for more.

Nice format, compact but chunky. Loads of unique artwork from a master. Good for inspiration.
