Monocular with portable design

Shocked by how good it is. Even though they sent me the fixed magnification.
Couldn't believe that a waterproof, multi-coated, BaK4 roof prism, 42mm objective, zoom monocular cost $17, so I ordered one. Within hours, the price jumped to $35. Lucky for me.August 13Pros:The optics are spectacular. I mean really. Compared it to my Olympus binoculars, Fuji camera, and my Zeiss 5x20 monocular. Have owned many optical devices over the years, ranging in the thousands to single digits in price. I know a good hunk of glass when I look through it.The initial assessment of the build quality is surprisingly good. Focus ring is smooth with the right resistance and progresses evenly thru the range. Twisting eye relief ring is the same. If I had no idea the cost or who made it, I would have guessed the street price to be $50-80.Cons:They sent the wrong one. They sent me the fixed magnification scope. If you look at the pictures, two of the scopes have a knurled eyepiece and two don't. Not the same scopes. The carry pouch has a tiny piece of velcro keeping it closed and the belt loop is single stitched. I wouldn't wear it on my belt when hiking. The pouch material itself is nice, but it's best kept inside your pack.Over All:I'm not sending mine back. The optics and construction are that good. I don't want to risk getting a piece of junk in exchange. Shipping across the Pacific takes too much time to play the exchange game with something this good. What I got was a steal at the price. The lanyard is attached to a tiny screw that fits in the tripod mount. The little bugger is much harder to lose attached to a big piece of cord. Will mount it on a tripod one clear night for celestial observations, just to really check out the optics. My initial tests were limited in range by the forest to about 200 meters. If all Bijia products are this good, snap them up before they double in price. I know what I'm talking about.

Impressive Optics in a Tough Shell!!!
Unbelievable quality for price paid. The price to performance borders on the unreal. Built and optics are excellent not just 'for its class', but any class period even for those 5-6 times higher in price. The build itself is rather special. A downside for some could be that focusing is quite hard to turn but capable of adjustments to a fine degree. The upside is likely to do with the overall water proofing and robustness of the device for extreme out door use...I bought this based on another reviewer feedback, that he was an optics snob but chosen to stick with this product. I needed a monocular and was looking through some...when i saw what he had to say about this product, i said 'hell why not'...My, was i glad to take the plunge..The close range focus for this 10x42 monocular borders on the unreal, if you don't mind the slightly more outdoorish robust size, you could easily use it at museums too..No NEED to look further for smaller gallery type monoculars as this would do within 1.5M or less, easy. In this capability, it borders on the unreal. Clarity in the sweet spot, unreal. Size of sweet spot easily close to 80%, that is truly not too shabby when comparing against some Bushnell elites and/or legend ultras...CA not a problem at all (i am those who go to lengths to find CA when testing or justifying a buy)...The color rendition is very true to life type neutral, very sharp. Unfortunately, not all BIJIA products are created equal , i purchcase two of their higher priced products , one one quarter higher in price, one about 3 times more, these other two do not perform well, otherwise, i would become tempted to try more of their products in future. Back to this and this product alone - if it is same quality as that which i bought, i recommend it as a most excellent monocular you could buy if you need one at low cost with uncompromised optical quality..

Nice
For the money you got some very good optics that resolve well, very nice quality. If you are weak little lady you might not like the fairly siff focus ,definitly takes two hand to use, but I like adustments a bit on the stiff side. Good case. I like it. Thought of buying another one but I dont use monculars that much more likely to use a compact binocular. Julius
