HOSPITAL DOG
Another book full of joy from the wonderful Julia Donaldson. I work in a school nursery & we are learning about pets & how to look after them. This story went down so well with all the children who were soon chanting the repeated refrains & really felt like they were reading along with me.A great book for any child in hospital or just lovers of fur babies.

Love love love!
We adore 'The Detective Dog' and were therefore really excited when we saw that Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie were collaborating again on a new doggy adventure.'The Hospital Dog' certainly doesn't disappoint. We absolutely loved it! Whilst it's a different dog, Dot the dalmatian, who is the star of this book, the story has the same warm comforting feel as it's predecessor about Nell the detective dog. It almost feels like a sequel, despite being a different story entirely with different characters etc. Dogs who help people is clearly a winning theme for this pair and I hope there are even more to come from them in the future. A story about a guide dog, or a police rescue dog maybe? The story itself flows beautifully, as we're so use to from the excellent Donaldson, and Ogilvie's illustrations are wonderfully detailed and inclusive. Despite there being sad elements to the story (sick children and an injured pet), all issues are handled sensitively, with a focus on positivity in the face of adversity.I can see this becoming a new firm favourite of ours. It really is a beautiful story.
