I saw an episode of Food Factory about Hammonds marshmallow snacks and had to try them. I look forward to trying the handmade marshmallow versus the mass produced type that we are all used to. I just tried one and it was very light and fluffy with good flavor, definitely not your supermarket marshmallow. As an aside, Amazon seems to think these are mutant marshmallows as the shipping label and separate box label identified them as containing lithium ion batteries. They didn't start moving around on their own when I opened one of the packets so all is good.

Since I'm a Celiac and I can find gluten/wheat flour-free cakes & candies of all sorts difficult to discover at the best of times, I was blown away to find the delicate flavor and creamy texture so much like the real thing!The pieces arrive in zip lockable storage bags, since consuming the individual marshmallows slowly. in order to savor them, will be something that will most likely be done after the first one is eaten.God Bless you!Wonderful candy for we Celiacs in particular...So grateful the Covid thing hasn't stopped this product from manufacture/sale!Hope that it will soon be made and thus can be sold at a lower cost.Maranatha!

I usually purchase the vanilla which is delicious but I decided to try a different flavor. Boy, was I surprised! This one smelled and tasted like play doh. My kids who eat everything spit it out. My dog took one smell and a lick and gagged. Wow. Worst taste ever. I threw them away. I'll stick to the vanilla.

It is obvious from the fist bite that these are fresh and of good quality but because of the price, I would not, could not buy them again. I understand it costs to have fresh items, but I can't justify paying this much for simple marshmallows.

UPDATE from original post:12/14/21 Unprompted and unbeknownst to me, Hammond Candies sent me a variety pack of their marshmallows, for free, to showcase their other flavors. This was such a lovely gesture and very much appreciated - great customer service. I tried them all: Coconut, vanilla, chocolate chip. I will say that the other flavors tasted much better and didn't have the false, chemical flavor that the birthday cake flavor had for me.I don’t know how other flavors of the Hammond marshmallows compare - but the Birthday cake flavor was terrible. They both smelled and had the taste of plastic - surprising considering they are supposed to be high end, gourmet candies. I ended up throwing them away.The complimentary candy bar they included, however, was delicious.I agree with another reviewer, that the smash mallow brand has much tastier marshmallows.

Update: Hammond’s Candies contacted me to apologize for melted mallows and offered to replace them with whichever flavor I wanted. I tried the coconut ones, hoping they would be less likely to melt into one solid glob. They shipped them with a cold pack and they arrived in excellent condition. And I can say, without a doubt, they are delicious! Thank you Hammond’s Candies, that was a pleasantly surprising email.I cannot tell you if these taste good or not. I ordered two packages and they both looked just like the attached photo. They were all melted together into a bag of mush.

Their marshmallows are always very good, birthday cake isn’t my Favorite but the family devours them. They toast beautifully and the bags have more than expected. What I didn’t expect was they sent a free gift, a full size s’mores chocolate bar that was incredible and my new favorite chocolate.

I love Hammonds. However, I do not recommend ordering marshmellows thru Amazon. They arrived wet in one big gooey clump. I do not believe that is the fault of Hammonds. Amazon did issue a refund and that us great. Chalk it up as a lesson learned.
