These devices are pretty well made and they are compact. In a short field trial they seem to do what they are supposed to do. I hooked up an IP camera over a 6' long piece of coax and could not tell any difference in picture quality versus UTP. The unknown at this point is what will happen with a longer cable run, but I really hope they will perform as well clear across a building as they did on the bench, as I have a lot of old cameras to replace and re-cabling buildings is just not an option.The one thing to be aware of though, is these guys don't support PoE. So, if you are going to use them as a strategy to replace analog cameras with IP you will need to make sure your new IP cameras support operation on an external power source and you will need to leave that existing power source in place.

Have used these in several installations where coax cables were already in place. While the BNC style connector is not optimal for network connectivity, if you wrap the connectors with a little bit of electrical tape, it helps the ground to stay connected. I have used these with cameras at up to 10mbps streams and been quite happy with their solid performance. While I always prefer a fresh CAT-5 or CAT-6 run, sometimes quick and dirty works well. Not the best price, but not bad either.

This is a great low cost, but effective product. I upgraded my video surveillance system to IP, but four areas had coax cameras and couldn't replace the cable with Cat6, and this product came through. The new IP cameras worked fine, I used the power from the Siamese cable to power up the IP camera and pluged in this device on both ends. My NVR didn't know the difference.

It was not clear what these do from the description on Amazon.

I first tried the Seco-Larm Enforcer passive devices and they did not work. In fact, the caused a broadcast storm on my switch. This product worked right out of the box. It was twice the price as the Seco-Larm device, but at $50 is still a great value. I will buy this product again.

i tried to hook this up to the coax cable for my router and the coax cable would not fit unless there is another type of cable this thing is a no go

These parts gave me a hard time. When I used them it put CCTV NVR in short circuit.
