Perfect for detailed graphite drawings
It’s now my go to paper for granite drawings. Not much tooth so good for details.

Great paper!
I like this paper enough to make it my main surface for charcoal drawings. The surface is so smooth that laying down and blending charcoal is a task made extremely easy - plus, the extra weight makes it sturdy enough to rework it with a kneaded eraser. However, this paper still has a very minor flaw. When using a harder eraser (anything other than kneaded), I've noticed that the surface will "lint" slightly, though this is not very noticeable if you don't try to look for the eraser tracks. Also, the way this was shipped bent the corners. I've purchased the larger 14 x 17 paper, slightly larger than I needed, so I'm prepared to cut the creased corners away for finished works if I need to.I'm sure there is better paper out there, but as I'm still progressing, this will do. I would recommend it for beginners and maybe even experienced artists, though do not try to use this for dip pens or heavy watercolor works because that will undoubtedly destroy its surface. Treat it right and it will reward you with great results.

Great paper - TERRIBLE shipping
This is my first time ordering Winsor & Newton paper; I love their artist watercolors so I thought I'd give their paper a go. I'm partially thrilled, but partially heartbroken, too. It's VERY smooth Bristol, which I absolutely love for ink drawings. I would be extremely happy with this paper if the shipping weren't an issue. The weight of the paper is not too heavy. It's listed as 114lb 250gsm and my Canson XL Bristol Smooth actually feels just slightly heavier (it's listed as 100lb 200gsm). It's a LOT smoother than the Canson, though, and for that I really do love it, even if I have to trim it down a bit for finished pieces. It's like buttah, as they say :-)The CONS:My last few paper orders I've been noticing a trend. Whether I buy multiple items in the same order or not, my paper (usually some kind of watercolor paper) is sent in a thin plastic envelope all by itself. As a result, one or more corners are damaged in transit. This was sadly no exception. The top left corner of this pad has damage on both the cover and on the paper itself. The cover is torn; the paper is bent up throughout the entire pad. The bottom left corner is only minimally bent, and the pages nearest to the back cover are worse than the front pages for some reason.Dear Amazon - please put artist paper in a box for shipping, and pad it a bit if possible, too. Maybe some innovator at Amazon could come up with some kind of cardboard corner protectors that could be slipped onto each corner before packing or something (I have ideas if you want 'em!).I really don't want to have to go to a different store for all of the paper I buy, but I might be at the end of my rope with that at this point.

Amazing paper
So good! Can do layers and layers of alchohol ink and doesn’t bleed through the back or around the edges. Highly recommend.
