Perfect for bigger fish, not for bluegill
This knife is too big for smaller fish. (bluegill, crappies, yellow perch, other panfish etc.) Bass and catfish were perfectly sized for this knife. It takes an edge easily. The rounded tip made it MUCH easier to cut around the rib cage vs a more typical pointed fillet knife. It's got some good flex which made taking the skin off a total breeze. The handle has got some good texture and I never felt like it would slip out of my hand.

Good feel but not sharp
I bought this in February and unfortunately didn’t get to use it until now. Out of the package, the knife was not sharp and struggled to clean sea bass. I work on a party boat so I’ve cut a few. I’ve always used Dexter but will try another model. The blade is great as far as width and flexibility, but doesn’t want to hold an edge.

Small amounts of rust on the blade
Not a big deal, but I am only using it in fresh water. It would probably be much worse if around salt water. It has a great grip.

It is a Dexter
I have heard for a long time that if you want a tool that gets the job done better than others, get a Dexter. Simple fact is they don't have the fancy marketing or the social media presence that other more expensive blades do, but the Dexter does the job better. At least in my hands the blade stays sharper, the flex is better, and I lose less meat. If you really want to see what the pro's use, watch a few of the professional fish processing videos on YouTube, where they do hundreds a day. Look at what is in their hands when they are filleting fish, most of the time it is a Dexter. Get one, it is cheaper and a better tool for the job.
