I love these books so much. I just hope they keep coming out with more and longer and longer ones. I would try to gobble them all up. I hope they start adding in Kindle here soon too. It gets hard traveling with paper books. The audio is so vital.I'm at a level where I cannot really get much use out of text books alone anymore. Either they aren't challenging enough or they are full of dry vocab and grammar lists I just cannot be bothered with anymore. I need context.I really just consider this bed time reading. We live in an age now where we can finally have graded readers at our level but with adult stories. How fortunate we are.Please make more of these books, keep uping the level, keep the quality as it is and add everything to Kindle PLEASE

This is a great book, and I would highly recommend it for anyone trying to learn Chinese. However, I bought this book solely to replace the accompanying CD, which I had lost. There was no CD with this book, even though both the introduction and the back cover clearly state it should have an accompanying CD.

We’ve ordered 4 of these books, and 2 came without the card. The card is an important feature of the book. Cards are specific to the book, so you cannot use card from another book in this book. I wish Amazon would have some process to verify that books come with all the parts. At least we did get the CD....

There's no vocab glossary in the book. Big minus.It has pinyin throughout the text , but no English translation.

Love the pinyin/character writing with the pinyin cover. Perfect for studying and practicing the Chinese language!

The stories are fun to read. Difficult passages are explained in English. It says it's aligned with the HSK 5, which seems about right, difficulty-wise. It comes with a CD. The first story is about fish head soup and how China changed during the market reform period. I've read a few different Chinese readers, and this one is my favorite.

Ich lese gerne solche "Graded Reader" um das Sprachenlernen zu unterstützen und diese Buchreihe hat es mir besonders angetan, da man gleichzeitig auch etwas über chinesische Literatur erfährt und interessante Erzählungen gewählt wurden. Jede Geschichte wird vorab in einen historischen Kontext einsortiert und es wird etwas über den Autor erklärt. Die Möglichkeit Pinyin abzudecken ist auch sehr praktisch zum Üben der Schriftzeichen, dass es aber Pinyin gibt ist auch sehr hilfreich, wenn man sich bei der Aussprache/den Tönen nicht sicher ist.Sehr zu empfehlen

Libro excelente, como todos los volúmenes de esta serie. No es para principiantes, ni mucho menos. Tal y como se indica en la contraportada, las 2000 palabras utilizadas en el libro se basan en las 2500 que corresponden al nivel HSK 5. Así que no es un libro para "empezar a leer en chino" como indica en su reseña otra clienta.

Me ha parecido una muy buena opción para empezar a leer en chino y, además, para sumergirse en la literatura y la cultura chinas.
