This might be fun for kids, but it’s not good except for just magnifying things. The image quality is poor and hard to adjust. Color quality is not good. I would only recommenders if you’re looking for something to help with fine detail work. But not for anything, scientific like viewing cells, insects etc.

It worked for about 6 hours then the screen won't display . The LED lights come on but the screen is not working . Update : They sent me another one . We'll see how it goes.

Bought this for my grandson and he was immediately captivated by getting closeups of different objects. I bought additional specimen slides which he enjoyed using with the microscope. Very handy size and being able to take off the base made it very versatile as well. Very happy with it!

Do not buy this product. It worked great and had a nice image at first. After owning for 3 months and only using it 3 times, the screen went black and no longer showed the image. Now I have to deal with the manufacturer and try to get this dealt with.*Update*After speaking with the manufacturer, they instructed me to open it up and unplug and replug the 2 tiny white plugs. Which I did and that didn't change anything. During that time a thin, white, paper like plug came detached. So I reattached it and now it works again. Hoping this helps some of you.

I initially thought I would only use this for coins and to spot jewelry hallmarks, but the portability/built in rechargeable battery makes it useful for so many applications. The battery holds a charge for quite a bit, as well!I've yet to use an SD card with it, or to hook it to my computer, so I can't speak to that. Still, this thing is exactly what I hoped for.

This is so much fun, clear images and really easy to take with anywhere.

Coin collecting

I purchased this for my 11 year old son who loves science. He always says he wants "grown up"science items. I was pleasantly surprised when this arrived at the quality. It was a good material and once we turned it on, the magnifier was quite impressive. My son and his friends spent hours finding things to magnify, anything from their own skin to dead bugs. And it was quite easy to use. Great gift for science fans.

Amazon had a $20 coupon so I got this for $50 which is what bumped it from 3 up to 4 stars.Functionally, this thing is easy to use. You plug it in, you press one button, and you're basically ready to go. The focus knob is self explanatory. The height adjustment (which also functions as your zoom) is a bit loose. Some reviews say it will lose grip entirely; I haven't had that yet but I could see it loosening more over time. There is no way to focus when at the lowest height/highest zoom. The picture quality met my expectations for the price paid. Not bad, but not great. I have no way to verify if the resolution actually meets spec, but I feel like it is exaggerated. I have worked with laboratory grade microscopes before and this falls far short of those but is sufficient for amateur hobby use.I have long term concerns with the reliability of this device however. Out of box I have been getting some intermittent screen flickering issues. This does not seem to be related to the cables, and the flickering does seem to settle down after a minute or two. It's annoying though not deal breaking at the moment. I will update if this gets worse over time or if it dies.

Very happy with this item, the only bad thing that I have a issue with is that the web site to download the program to work with my pc will not open - sent e-mail to their customer service and they have not reply back to me after 2 weeks. The item works perfect with my Mac book pro and allows for better images and to take photos. All in all I'm very happy with this item and I found it well worth the money that I paid for it. Just wish that their customer service dept would have not drop the ball on getting back in touch with me.

i like the microscope in general, excellent features, but the positional knobs don't hold the microscope in position, i have to look at everything at its closest setting, unless i clip the track to prevent the microscope from sliding down.

For the price of it it's fantastic. I use it for watch repair and it helps so much. It's a keeper.

Picture is great on the device and it's easy to set up. Figuring out how to record was tricky and I still havnt figured out the web page. The adjusting arm could be a little bit easier to use but other than that it's a pretty good device!
