What an enchanting story!
The book itself is awesome. What I found fascinating was the different levels the book is written.I read it a total of three times. First read, I realised it's a story, second read, I started noticing the patterns, theme, and connection. The third, I started finding the thread that binds it, like, I noticed the language and the precise use of words. It's like each word is purposely and specifically selected. And the poetry is rhythmic and mesmerising. Each time I read it, I took something very different. My 9 year read it and he was full of questions.I am sure someone can write a chapter or two about each pair of prose. Maybe, the author should write an explanation. The science, the poetry, the snap shot of history all intertwined. It left me feeling sad and happy at the same time. Its thought-provoking and emotionally provocative.I don't know what else to say other than a really well put together book. Well done.

Beautifully written with layers of meaning
The word powerful epitomizes the content and character of this book. The traditional story of the origin of the universe re-enacted into a love story between two heavenly bodies, the Earth and the Moon. I was curious about the title of the book but then understood by the end why the author refers to the moon as blue. As the earth undergoes, its tumultuous stages; explosion, formation and metamorphosis and finally its decline and then rebirth, the moon, its celestial and spiritual companion, simultaneously absorbs the consequential effects of the earth's physical changes and challenges with a stream of emotions; love, joy, awe, pain, sorrow. He weaves in the force of destruction that man's greed and his pillage of the earth's precious resources brings on mother earth while the moon watches silently in dismay. There were so many layers to this story. It is written with deep emotion. One of the parallels I took from this story was what two companions may experience as they journey through life's joys and happiness, but also through its pain and suffering. The author used some powerful images of the earth and space, and using emotive language delivered in a beautiful string of verses and rhyme, he successfully achieves his purpose drawing the reader in a place of stillness and calm, where one can hear the subtle movement of the sound of silence.Beautifully written, I look forward to reading his other works.Sabeen Sheikh

Blown away by this book! Stunning images and so much depth in each word. Abu Shama has woven together a masterpiece of science, history of the universe and philosophy and if that was not enough, he did it using poetry. I have bought it for my friends as it makes a wonderful gift

A very warm congratulations to the Abu on his first book and what an amazing first book it is!
I always believed Abu will be a great writer some day.. So it was a genuine pleasure to see Abu Shama, a dear friend, has published his first book!! "Why is the moon so blue? It is even greater pleasure to read the book now and to give the feedback. The book is an attractive blend of many aspects of human en devour - science, physics, anthropology, causality, fate, love and poetry. The book is a melting pot of so many ideas, a journey through the space and time of a lonely universe and then sudden interactions of human being.. I thoroughly enjoyed it.A very warm congratulations to the Abu on his first book and what an amazing first book it is!I will however loved to see some forwarding or direction for the readers of this book. Some of the concept laid out on the book may not be easy to follow for a chance reader and might not be able to see the real gem that is hidden under this beautiful poetry. The Amazon delivery was great. I however initially received a faulty copy of the book with some print issues but Amazon was quick to send a replacement!
