What this is not is a sink stopper & strainer. Therefore, you will need one when you wish to fill up the sink. However, if you wash your dishes under running water or for anything else, it does a good job of catching the food bits that would otherwise go down the drain. I recommend frequent cleaning and while most of it will fall into the trash can, not everything does so you might need a paper towel to further clean it and perhaps a rinse under water f you have greasy buildup on it (minor, but it can happen). If you fail to keep it mostly clean, the water will backup. Unlike mesh strainers, the bottom is pretty much solid. It's not a bad product at all and much sturdier than the cheap mesh ones that also have to be attended to. If it meets your needs, it will be a worthwhile purchase.

We just moved into a house that is on septic and I needed a good solid kitchen sink strainer so that my boys don't constantly get food down the drain and back everything up. These are literal perfection! They are the exact size of the sink drain so they sit perfectly creating the image that they are part and parcel with the sink. Also, when my boys do decide to rinse all of their food scraps into the sink instead of the garbage, water still empties down the drain. I never thought I would ever utter the words, "I love my sink strainer!" but here I am saying it. If you're on the fence... you can stop hesitating... this is the PERFECT sink strainer.

Love, but the optional separate stopper that comes with it doesn’t work well if it’s not perfectly placed over the drain. It can take 2-3 tries. And the only way to remove it under gunky water is with pinched fingers. There’s no way to wedge it with a knife or brush head. I’ll be looking for a better stopper, and even then won’t love that it has to be a separate piece to find a place for. But it does solve the problem of the water not draining because the catch is clogged. Once again, life’s problems are a game of Whack-a-Mole.

I originally purchased the tub shroom. Had to replace tub and my plumber took my shroom as trash!!! I repurchased it and ot is great!!! I have now purchased 1 shower shroom for my 2nd bathroom and for my sister!!! I purchased 5he sink bath shrrom and very happy with it. Now my kitchen is protected too!!! These things don't let anything go through!!!! I love it!!!!

This is better looking than traditional strainers. The design is such that the middle section (with holes) is taller than the basket. This is why water still drains when the basket is getting full of tiny food scraps. Great feature! But I tend to hand wash knives, stemmed glasses, etc.. To fill the sink you must remove the strainer and then insert the stopper. (The strainer does lie flat on the counter, which is nice). But I think the fit of the stopper could be better. It's not a suction stopper. It dislodged while washing dishes. The water quickly drained from the sink because I couldn't get it back in place fast enough. Kind of frustrating.

I got 2, 1 for each side of the sink. It catches all the food but allows the water to drain.Now I don't have to worry about stray particles of food getting down and clogging the sink or messing up the septic tank.

This product looks great in my sink. That might seem like a weird thing to say- but compared to the gross drain strainer I was using, this one is really nice. What I didn’t like about the strainer I was using previously was that bits of food would get stuck in the metal grate and it was impossible to clean. This one functions well to catch food and running it under water cleans it right off. I chucked the old strainer in the bin!!!!!

I am sure most people would find this sink strainer very useful. It even comes with a stopper. Unfortunately, it is too big for my kitchen sink drain. I will have to find a sink strainer that is smaller. Make sure you measure the diameter of the drain, before you make your purchase.

It actually doesn't clog when the catcher is full! We get a lot of buildup over the day with 3 little kids and their messes, so I was having gross sink buildup bc of dirty dishes. But this drains like a dream. Worth it for 2.

Works like it should. Catches the small pieces of food so they don't go down the drain. The drain stopper works very well too.
