With their enemies closing in from all sides can they find their happily ever after or will the odds beat them and keep them apart again?I loved this story where their orbits came back around at a better time so that they could make a success of what they always had. The world of magic was definitely on show here with Ruby who was an elemental witch and could use those skills as well as some standard ones, and Diego with his magical talent for finding things. I loved their relationship and how strong it was at the times when others were trying their best to force them apart. I also loved the way that Diego was so protective of Ruby's daughter and really did everything he could to make sure that she was safe even at the cost of his own life. Well written and easy to read and understand. It was definitely easy to feel as I was caught by another household member crying while reading this book. Contains some sexual content. Looking forward to the next story which sounds great.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I did the previous books in the series. It could be read as a standalone but you'd miss a lot of the backstop and some of Ruby's history.Ruby is a Legacy witch, and as such has had her marriage and future mapped out for her. Whilst she may like to play by the rules, she's not one to mindlessly follow what is expected of her. She's a dedicated paramedic and mother, as well as an extremely powerful witch.Diego has known Ruby since they were young, although he didn't know all of her secrets. Now that he's helping the sisters fight the Revelere, he's coming to see that Ruby really is out of his league.These are well written books, with well developed characters. Diego and Ruby have undeniable chemistry and it's great to see them lose the battle to fight it.I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest and unbiased review.

I've loved the other books in this series and was overjoyed when we finally had the story of Captain Cover Girl, aka Ruby Donovan. Unwilling Legacy witch Ruby has already been matched once to provide a Senate heir, the adorable (and scarily powerful) Rose, but can she make the match she has always wanted with her heart's desire, the gorgeous Diego who is definitely from the wrong side of the tracks?I loved that this book was less about the Revelare than the other books as it was nice to see more of the Senate infighting and the families' dirty laundry, and the relationship between Ruby and Diego was tender, sweet and somehow still searingly hot.

This is a brilliant read.Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.Great drama and romance with wonderful world building.Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.Recommend reading.I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
