Great story where magic was definitely on show and romance finally got the ending it deserved
Legacy witch, paramedic and single Mum Ruby Donovan is also something that she never wanted and certainly didn't ask for - Senate Heir. Now she needs to find a loophole fast to get out of that - especially as the one man who has stepped in to help her is the man who crushed her heart years ago. Diego Benitas is a Treasure Hunter and is not interested in witch politics but he has (and always has had) an interest in Ruby. Surely helping her to find what she is looking for while keeping her safe should be easy for him. However, can he also convince her to let him into her heart again so they get a second chance? After all, she is all he has ever wanted or needed. In a short while, Ruby and Diego realise that their search has stirred up a lot of danger where they really do need each other. With their enemies closing in from all sides can they find their happily ever after or will the odds beat them and keep them apart again?I loved this story where their orbits came back around at a better time so that they could make a success of what they always had. The world of magic was definitely on show here with Ruby who was an elemental witch and could use those skills as well as some standard ones, and Diego with his magical talent for finding things. I loved their relationship and how strong it was at the times when others were trying their best to force them apart. I also loved the way that Diego was so protective of Ruby's daughter and really did everything he could to make sure that she was safe even at the cost of his own life. Well written and easy to read and understand. It was definitely easy to feel as I was caught by another household member crying while reading this book. Contains some sexual content. Looking forward to the next story which sounds great.

Read the Series in Order
“Heart and Seek (The Legacy Series, Book 4)” is a series about a family of young female witches (Sisters Ruby, Mina, Delia, and Cami) whose main magic is rooted within the elements. A governing body of older witches comprised mostly of witches descended from the Legacy clan is known as “The Senate”. The Senate has all the power even in matters of mating. There is a constant power struggle between old and new, strong magic and weak magic. When the two described entities are not fighting each other, they are then battling against the common enemy known as the Revelare (demons). Also, male born witches don’t have too much magical power. Their role is to procreate and protect. With that said, Book 4 in the series focuses on second chance love between witch, Ruby Donovan Sorenson (who has the element of earth magic) and Diego Benitas, a male witch who is good at finding lost things and is currently looking for The Senate’s magic cauldron lost in Sunken City. Diego and Ruby can’t be together because Diego doesn’t have the right pedigree and Ruby is next up as Legacy heir to lead the senate. Now I explained all this to say that the book had strong heroines, lots of magic and a nice little mystery. I also loved Ruby’s daughter, Rose and her familiar, Fenn. My only gripe is that I did not read the Books 1 through 3 in the series. And although this is my fault, I feel I know too much from Book 4 to go back and read the others. Don’t make my mistake.I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

Second Chance
Very intense story with fantastic world building and a second chance paranormal romance.Full disclosure, I did not read the prior books in this series and the first part of the book took a significant amount of concentration and some re-reading to grasp the many characters and how they were related or associated. It was an immensely enjoyable read, and technically could be read as a standalone, but it definitely would be best reading from book 1.Ruby and Diego’s relationship started 20+ years ago when they ran into each other as teenagers volunteering at a hospital. They were forced apart by circumstances and had a couple more brushes with each other while each served in the military. Ruby is now a mother to an adorable 2 year old daughter, and she is a paramedic using her healing powers to help people.Diego is haunted by his past which includes the death of his sister and nephew, his battle with alcoholism and his heartache at losing Ruby years ago. This storyline is full of intense drama, some twists and surprises before coming to a happy for now ending. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but the over arcing story is left unfinished to be concluded in the next book. I am definitely planning to go back to book 1 and enjoy the series from the beginning.I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Phenomenal Read!
Slow burn. Sacrifice. True love.Ruby and Diego. These two...all the feels!A pull and push between these two, made their passion even steamier! I love that there is history between them. It added more to their story and even more for them to lose. Everything was put on the line. One of the things I love about a Luna Joya book is that there’s a fantastic story along with those passionate moments between characters. I am fully invested in this series! These characters have become family. Secrets and lies are unraveled. Change coming and new possible future is ahead! There are some nail biting moments which had me at the edge of my seat. It’s always hard to choose which book is my favorite when it comes to this series. I love all of them but this book just got me right there….you know. In the feels! A huge fan of Luna Joya;s writing as well as her storytelling. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next! I give this 5 stars.
