Works quite well - just ensure that your car is on the "supported" list.
Picked this up to pressure test the cooling system of my Subaru, and it worked well. It isn't cheap like a lot of the "really cheap" units out there, but the advantage here is that it works right out of the box without issue. I was able to quickly pressure test both my radiator caps, as well as the cooling system of my car, and came to some interesting conclusions that I otherwise would never have known. No real issues with it. The tool itself is made from some kind of composite plastic, so I would say that its construction is probably more geared toward the shade tree mechanic rather than a full blown mechanic shop. Aside from that, it does what it says on the tin.One thing to be aware of though is that there is a list of manufacturers that the tool supports. Might be wise to crosscheck their Mityvac's website to ensure that your application is supported. With that said, the tool comes with several adapters to cover a wide range of applications.

Saved me a ton of time!
Awesome little pressure tester. I had a a bunch of coolant on the passenger floor. I thought, oh man, I have to replace the heater core. Wasn't convinced though. I sucked on the core for pressure. (Use a couple of plastic tubes on the nipples, plug one and suck on the other - it's about 14PSI at sea level, similar to core pressure.) The core vacuum was good. So, on a hunch I replaced the hose clamps on the core nipples. They were the old original screw bolt type. Changed out the coolant and used the Mityvac to test. First I checked the engine cold. The adapter for my '93 Mitsu VR4 worked perfectly. It held at 23PSI. So, no hose leaks. Then I turned the engine on with the Mityvac on the radiator cap fitting. Pumped it to the cap operating pressure 11-15PSI. I pumped it to 14. Tuned on the heater so the coolant was running though the heater core. It stayed solid at 14PSI. I almost freaked out as I saw the PSI drop - til I realized I'd touched the pressure relief lever on the Mityvac. Pumped it back up and I was good. Just let it sit there as the engine cooled. No leaks. Mityvac saved me a ton of work replacing the heater core. Turned out my electric radiator fan had gone out, got hot and blew coolant into the cabin via loose clamps on the core nipples. This is a great unit. Like the others say - It's solid. Plastic but solid. Good quality gauge. Just be careful not to accidentally push the pressure release lever while you're checking PSI. It's easy to bump.

Works great
Used it to diagnose a leaking radiator on my Dodge minivan - worked great. After first few pumps I saw right away I had a small crack in the plastic part of my radiator where fluid was squirting out. I've seen people concerned that there is no molded case. However, the item comes in a plastic molded deal that holds all the pieces nicely - but uncovered. I set it in a rollaway tool chest for storage and that will be perfect for me. Otherwise you could use the Amazon box the item comes in for storage. Not fancy, but good enough. The item utilizes a plastic tube for connecting the pump to the assorted caps. I could see the ends on that wearing out over time if you use this on a frequent basis. You could cut the ends off whenever that happens, but after doing that a few time the hose would be too short to use - so if you plan on using this a lot you'll probably be needing to buy more hose eventually. Also they include two hose-attachment caps and a spare. They also include a manual that shows you which cap to use on what vehicle - but there are only four caps and you don't really need calibrated eyeballs to figure out which one you need. It would've been nice if they had included what pressure your cooling system uses in the manual, but they probably didn't for liability reasons so if you blow a hose you can't blame them. I think you can get the cooling system pressure off a label under the hood or off the radiator cap. I just figured 15 psi for my car because that is what I heard once was pretty standard. It didn't matter anyway for me because at about 4 PSI it was pretty clear where the leak was.The item seems well built and should last a long time for people using it for personal use. I don't know if I'll ever need it again, but it's cheaper to buy this than have the car diagnosed by a mechanic.

First impression, seems good.
Worked right away. I do not give 5 stars unless I have used something for long enough to prove it is durable and reliable. But initial impression is good.
