The Dresden Dolls: The Virginia Companion

Love it! Only issue is that it is so thick compared to The Dresden Dolls Companion and Who Killed Amanda Palmer. It's very difficult to keep it open on a specific page, especially one near the back! Ring binding would improve it immensely.

Yes, Virginia is one of my favorite albums, so it was fascinating to peek under the hood, so to speak. This book, in addition to the sheet music, provides tons of context about the creation of Yes and No Virginia -- everything from the genesis of songs to earlier versions of the lyrics, stories about the recording process, and tour and promotional photography. Companion really is the right word, and I'd rate it a must-have for a serious fan of either Virginia album.I wish that a book like this existed for every album I love. I'd go broke buying them.

I've bought this when it first came out and still use it as I just love the music from these two albums - I was a novice when I started playing piano and now can play most of these songs fluently because they're so much fun to play. Most of the songs have great additional notes from Amanda if you want to add character to your playing style. There's a couple of minor errors in the sheet music, but otherwise this is one of my favorite piano books ever! Highly recommended!!
