TobinCubist Zenbroidery Kit

This has been such a fun and lively long-term project for me. There's so much variety in the blocks.

I intended to do needlework, however the fabric was so thin it would have shredded. May have been ok for painting. Not what I was expecting so I returned with no problem.

Very satisfied; a great stress reliever and diet aid. Lots of room to add creativity.

This is a very nice embroidery pattern. I love that each box is different and you can complete the template however you see fit. This kit comes with a needle but no thread or specific directions--It is really meant for you to do your own thing and I expected that. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 stars because the design print is in permanent black ink that can be seen under light colored thread. I wish the design washed away like other embroidery I have done. Other than that (it may take me a year) I plan to finish this and hang it on my wall.

I like the design and it's easy to see to stitch but..it's problematic. It's a big piece so I started with a big hoop but I wanted to embellish the designs, and soon or later hooping over beads and sequins was going to be a challenge. It's hard on satin stitches too. I did have a scroll frame that kinda worked but I wasn't really wanting such a big bulky project. The fabric is to flimsy to stitch without support. I thought it would be a great idea to use up some of my collection of thread and embellishments but it just doesn't work for me. And it didn’t come with a needle despite much searching.

The whole idea of Zenbroidery has really interested me. You can embroider, paint , color or any combination of techniques can be used to complete this project . Any colors , stitches you want. So far I chose to sew in simple stitches and in shades of purples. The cloth is firm, stitched tight but easy to put the needle through.The kit comes with the needle. From there it's all yours. Haven't started stitching but washed and ironed the material. I can already tell this is going to be fun because of all the boxes (some repeats). I like the option of choosing the colors I want to use which will help deplete my stash of left over floss.

This is a perfect piece to practice your embroidery or if you're already proficient, it's a good means to exhibit your expertise.

I loved all the different small patterns and look forward to adding some simple embroidery to them . The fabric is quite stiff, so not sure how easy it will be to sew into. I would have liked some ideas on how to colour the background, but I’m sure I can find some methods on the internet.

This is rather nice and a good way I feel to pass the dull dreary winter nights
