Wonderful book and opportunity
We are so fortunate to have the benefit of Alejandro's years of practice and study on this topic. I am experiencing the magic of these magical movements with only a few short months of practice. I strongly recommend this book as well as Ale's earlier book," Tibetan Yoga for Health and Well-Being". These are powerful practices. I came to them while in deep grief for the loss of a beloved friend. They have been instrumental in supporting me to process and release my grief, as well as the broad benefits of clearing my obstacles in all areas of my life.

Excellent for any level of practitioner
Alejandro Chaoul has combined his experience as a long-time practitioner of Bön, with his educational background earning his PhD from Rice University, and his participation in research at M.D. Anderson. This is a rare combination. Ancient yogic practices are described, along with resources for future study. The subject is covered in depth, and is easy to read. The book includes valuable historical information as well, and is suitable for any level practitioner. It’s incredible to have these practices made available, combining body, breath and mind.

Great book!
I highly recommend this book. I do a good chunk of these exercises daily, and I feel far more focused. My mind is also far more quiet. The tension in my body is easing too. Get this book.

Good book but there is no pictures of exercises. Just text only.
It seems that it is more academical book rather than practice manual. It is quite strange to read instructions of how to do exercises without having images showing how to do them. It is frustrating. I write this comment to warn potential buyers. Previous book was more informative.

Excellent introduction to an ancient system of yoga
Dr. Chaoul has been studying and practicing and sharing these ancient yogic practices for many years. In this book he provides a great framework for understanding the akhrid system of trul khor, and provides both his own descriptions of the movements as well as a new translation of the source text.This book isn’t sufficient to master the movements for oneself. For someone wanting more of a practice manual, Dr, Chaoul’s other book, Tibetan Yoga for Health & Well Being is a better place to start.For those with an existing knowledge of the movements, however, this book is a much needed resource. Highly recommend.

A beautiful book on a fascinating yoga practice
I've been interested in yoga for a few years now, and am Buddhist, so I was very excited to hear that there is a type of yoga affiliated with Buddhism that I hadn't heard of before. Reading this book truly felt like learning from a master—you can tell that Dr. Chaoul has spent many years practicing, thinking about, and teaching this practice. I also really enjoyed how Dr. Chaoul (and the practice of trul khor) support truly holistic health. Meditation can focus a lot on the mind, and sometimes yoga can focus mostly on the body. But as this book teaches, bringing together body, breath, and mind is incredibly powerful. Highly recommended!

Very clear and user-friendly
Dr. Ale Chaoul has been practicing and teaching these "magical movements" of Tibetan Yoga for over 30 years. He is both a scholar and an advanced practitioner, one who writes clearly and persuasively about the value of this integration of body, mind, and spirit. If you are interested in increasing your well-being, it is well worth the investment to understand this insufficiently known form of Yoga.

Leider ohne Bilder oder Videos
Vorweg: Ich habe das Buch nur durchgeblättert, nicht gelesen - weil ich es zurückschicken werde. Ich hatte, wie bspw. in den Büchern von Tenzin Wangyal, Abbildungen, Zeichnungen, Fotos oder zumindest einen Link erwartet, wo die Übungen dann vorgeführt werden. Das Buch enthält - soweit ich gesehen habe - nichts davon. Man ist allein auf die Beschreibungen angewiesen. Um die Übungen selbst durchzuführen, ist das meiner Meinung nach nicht ausreichend.Bin ziemlich enttäuscht und sende es so zurück.
