Makes us wonder how great it would have been if Sri Atalji had written an autobiography!
The book rightfully covers the biographical incidents of Sri Atalji, which is definitely worth the effort - for this brings us close to the life of one of India's greatest selfless statesman. A very good insight into Sri Atalji political principles, ideals and the means to achieving the same and how he delivered his best at each stage. So, for anyone who is interested to know about the life and times of Sri Atalji, this is definitely a god read. But the narration, the details and the style of writing was a let down, and should have been more comprehensive in research and rendering. That is, this is the difference between a biography and an autobiography - when a life is told by someone else, viewing through a different prism, the story conveyed is already in 3rd person. The author has made a valiant effort to collate all details and weave them together to create the comprehensive story, but the lack of a detailed, research oriented approach to writing about one of India's most defining PM, was a let down. I could possibly think that this could have been due to either paucity of time or resources or both for the author. But kudos to Sri Nag for bringing us closer to Sri Atalji's life. Wouldn't have been possible but for his initiative. Hence 4 stars.

A good short read
A good read for those interested in one of the tallest leaders of independent India who influenced Indian polity and governance in myriad of ways. One can learn a lot from many anecdotes about the way Atal ji did not let politics mask ethics, a rare quality these days. However the book is not quite a biography. It is more of a compilation of third party anecdotes and newspaper clippings. Those looking for a deeper peek into the life of Atal ji may be disappointed by the width and depth of coverage. Also some readers may be disenchanted by the fact that shortcomings of Atal ji are largely missing in the book making it an incomplete biography.Overall a good short read about the legendary Bharata Ratna.

The author says, it's difficult to put into public perspective Mr. Vajpayee's life. I would say it is even difficult to put it down in a book. So Mr. Nag has done a commendable job of shedding light on Mr. Vajpayee's personal as well as political life.

Wonderful read for an Atal ji devotees
This is a reasonable summary for all of Atal ji's work and public life. However if you dig deeper much of it is publicly available in media articles, YouTube or archived newslinks

Not what I expected
It is not in-depth enough to reveal the life of Atalji. I'm not an expert but it's basically beating around the bush of Atalji's life and the book just ends. 3 stars for the book.
