Love the amount of detail and info that was put into this, as well as the map showing where the plants are generally available.

As a beginner to foraging in Texas, it was fun to see how many things I’ve seen around me my whole life are actually edible. Pretty pictures. Good layout.

I have used this book extensively in the Brazos Valley region of Texas. I was able to identify several dozen species in just a hand full of trips. Included are helpful tips on preparing food out of the plants. Just a note for anyone who may be interested: I find yaupon and greenbriar in just about any edge habitat in this particular region of Texas. There are even two streets named after yaupon and greenbriar in my county. My personal favorite find has been golden rod. It makes an excellent tea. This books goes along great with my book "Mushroom Foraging of the Gulf States" when headed out for a ramble in the forest.

Wish the pictures were a bit more clear, and regarding poisonous plants it could of been more closely categorized.

This book is well-written with a lot of essential information on the identification and uses of many Texas plants. The pictures are pretty good, too. Great resource just in case.

It was loaded with information and I really like the maps showing the main places a plant is located. However, the pictures left a lot to be desired. I may have jut gotten a bad copy but some of the pictures are so dark it is hard to tell much about the plants. I'd be afraid to try to identify a plant using these pictures. For over $37, I expected far better. I have another foraging book with beautiful, clear pictures and the price was about half that.

If you keep a shelf of nature guides this is one you’ll want to add to your collection. Nicely written and organized and beautifully illustrated. It’s absolutely packed with info. Knight and Coplin are a great author team and their passion for the topic really shows in the care and detail they’ve put into this book. Hope to see more from these guys.

I am one of the first people to receive this and I can tell it is right off the press, it is absolutely perfect. And worth more than it's listed for. I mean this book is above and beyond. I highly recommend. Extremely happy with this purchase and so glad I pre-ordered.
