Has anyone used this thread for bag making?

Accepted Answer

No, but if you are going to machine embroider the bag, it should do pretty well.  I have used this thread for machine quilting through the batting and the backing and it holds up well.  For the actual stitching of the bag, I would use other non-decorative thread that might be stronger.

How can I get a conversion chart for Brother colors?

So I’m learning a lot about machine embroidery and threads, and after deciding I wasn’t going to keep buying the $130-300 sets of Floriani colors, I started searching first eBay. When I saw a few sellers with Brother color compatible thread, I contacted my instructor who has been in the machine embroidery, from multiple needle shop setups to home machines. So there are around 4-5 big name, very prestigious guaranteed quality thread brands, and they each have their own specific colors, though sometimes it can be really really hard to tell the difference between 3 spools from 3 different companies in say a shade of light pink. Under some lights they look exactly the same, others, 1 of the 3 is slightly different, and in other light all 3 are definitely different. So just make sure you have enough on 1 spool, or enough spools of the same dye lot and brand to finish a design at least. This brand is matched to Madeira’s colors, and I’m going to try them because I don’t own any Madeira embroidery thread, so hoping to end up with some more range or totally new colors from this set. Has anyone explained how to substitute colors/brands to you as well? Do a YouTube search for Quality Sewing & Vac in WA, and search through their videos for the one on organizing thread. There are several “off brands” that closely duplicate Brothers colors, just search for Brother color compatible embroidery threads or something like that. Simthread, Brothread and Threadnanny threads have worked well for me, and save me a ton of money!

Hello what size are the bobbins ?

The spool of thread has 550 yards of thread and the same size of Sulky Blendables thsread and like Coats and Clark Dual Duty. It is 2 inches tall. The color when embroidered is great

Can this be used on a juki qvc?

It's standard 40wt poly thread  - I'm not familiar enough with that machine, so best to check your manual for recommendations
