PSBCS1000 Universal Compact in-Outdoor Speaker - Black

I paired the cs1000's with a m.s.m.l da-9 Bluetooth 50w per channel amp. I couldn't ask for better sound quality. This combo sounds great cranked up. It sounds like I have a 10in sub these speakers have such amazing bass. They also sound great at low volume. I would definitely recommend these speakers with a good amp.

These are amazing outdoor speakers. I was debating between this and the Definitive AW 6500 which also gets good reviews. On Crutchfield and the AVSForums people had mentioned that these speakers perform much better than the AW 6500, so I took a chance. All I can say is wow!! These are some amazingly powerful outdoor speakers. I was replacing Speakercraft outdoor speakers and these blow them out of the water. They have great range and pretty solid bass, the wife absolutely loves them. I put an Onyko M-5010 behind them to drive them off Zone2 of my receiver. If you love good sound across the spectrum of music then take a chance, you won't be disappointed.Update 7/4/2016When you turn these babies up they just perform, what an amazing outdoor speaker! We are so happy with these for our summer parties. They sound like professional DJ party speakers, you can't go wrong.

I was worried about having two speakers 30ft apart and 5ft above standing listening level was going to negatively impact sound quality on my second story deck. Fortunately, I was completely wrong. These are the best sounding pair of outdoor speakers without an additional sub that I have ever heard. I’ve only owned them for 2 months so not sure how they will hold up over time in northern New Jersey. Even from the ground level out in the backyard, the sound quality is amazing. Sounds like a concert in my backyard. I’m using a new Sono Amp with this pair with my Sonos volume manually capped at 85% and I’m completely satisfied. Pink Floyd sounds amazing on them.

If you're not too picky about the way your outdoor speakers sound and want something that will withstand a Category 5 hurricane, this may be the speaker for you.Pro's:Well built and looks like they would even float. Enclosure is sealed really well and the woofer & tweeter don't look like they would leak water into the enclosure. This is probably due to their acoustic suspension design, rather than having a ported woofer.Not too heavy b/c they are made out of a composite plastic, not metal. They're very sturdy though.Really good base for a speaker this size. Just slightly better than the Def Tech AW 6500 I compared them to.Con's:Sound quality is just ok. PSB says these speakers don't need to be broken in but I found there was a noticeable improvement in the sound quality and imaging after 5-6 hours of run-in. They might improve more but I was so disappointed with the sound quality I didn't want to waste my time, and sent them back.I A/B'ed these against the Def Tech AW6500 using well-recorded source material (DSF 128 on an Oppo UDP-205) and an Emotiva amp with 200wpc. Music on the PSB-1000’s lacked definition and depth of sound stage, and was dull, muddled and lacked transparency. Really disappointing considering the reviews.Def Techs 6500’s otoh were very open, transparent and had a deep/wide soundstage. They were much more “musical” than the PSB’s. The difference was amazing.If you’re looking at both of these speakers, imho the Def Tech’s are way sounding better for the same price. You might like the PSB-1000’s better if they will be mounted outdoors directly exposed to the elements as the Def Tech’s are only water resistant, not waterproof.You might like the “sound” of the PSB’s better if you listen to rock, pop, edm, hip hop, etc., streaming or low quality MP3s, and music recorded in the last 15 years. Streaming/MP3s, or new music lack detail (removed in the studio, or when converted to lossy formats/streaming) so you won’t notice that the speakers can’t reproduce it because it’s missing in the recorded music to begin with.

This is the second pair of PSB CS1000's I have purchased, a set for each of our homes. Very good sound reproduction, and decent solid base with plug in. Many guests have commented on the sound quality. Can handle more power than I give them, as to not get noise complaints from neighbors. Open box provides a really good value. Definitely out performed my Polk Audio Atrium 7's (no longer available).

The worst customer service experience on behalf of #PSBSPEAKERS I've had. Since the end of last year I contacted them for failure on the tweeters, mind you they are still under their warranty. Going back and forth in emails, they decided to close my request of service and put it as "SOLVED" with no further information. I contacted the one person here in the states and asked to look into it, just for her to respond " my tech says : is the tweeters and they are worth 38 each plus $20 shipping and handling, even though still under warranty. However I left her a message questioning this and still to receive a call, love the speakers, they however are not able to handle the RMS they state, and now the company is making me buy the tweeters again.

Excellent speakers period. Driving thes with a parasound halo a.23 amp and 851n. Crisp, excellent imaging, clear and can be driven hard and loud. I'm not sure if there is anything better out there for outdoor speakers. My indoor set are Revel Performa 3 F8's driven by a Parasound a21 amp. so I have a good comparator.

PSB speakers are fantastic. They don’t have piercing highs (bright), but don’t miss out on any of the details. I have them connected to a Parasound pre + amp and couldn’t be happier. Hifi on the patio :))

My entire house is filled with PSB speakers and subs. Love how they sound and quality is outstanding. These are not cheap box store brand speakers. I picked up these cs1000's for outside on my deck and once again PSB made an amazing speaker. Highly detailed and clear and even have decent bass for just being 6.5 drivers. Yeah they aren't cheap but you won't be disappointed....you get what you pay for. The mounting bracket these come with is also well built and makes mounting these super easy and highly adjustable.

When these speakers are matched with the right power source, the result is orchestra like sounds, from the lowest bass to the symbol highs. Very impressed with the quality and range in a big outdoor area.

Excellent product and definitely manufactured with canadian weather in mind by a canadian company. I've ordered them with Definitive AW5500 and Polk Audio Atrium 5, tested them side by side and decided to keep the Definitive Technologies and return the PSB. The sound was just more rich with the AW5500. I have to admit that I'm sceptical on the longevity, these ones will probably last longer than the Definitive Technologies.I also kept the Polk Atrium but since they are smaller and less expensive, I'll use them for a different use case.
