Showdown (Underdog Book #6): LitRPG Series

Another great installment to this series!
The continuing adventures of Eric are amazing and (spoiler) I am so happy he was finally able to get Mee back! All the little "reunions" if you will served well to the bring us back around to the start of the story, and I'm also glad he was finally able to return to his hometown, even if only for a short while.I will admit to being lost or confused in some parts, but that was more because I has been so long since I'd read the previous books in the series. Of course, that just means I need to reread the series to refresh my memory; no great sacrifice there. Lol. I will be doing that before reading the next book.I am definitely looking forward to seeing Eric continue rebuilding the Monster Order and take down the Steel King!

Finished the day I got it!
I routinely pre-order the books in this series, and generally finish them within 48 hours of starting them.I love the character development in this story. The MC increasingly finds himself in more complex situations and is constantly forced to adapt. I also love how the author doesn't waste a thing. Seemingly bland and inconsequential details from as far back as the first book are still relevant.POTENTIAL SPOILERS!For people who've been following this series for awhile, I'll say that a lot of loose ends are tied up, but the stage is set for a massive development later on.I can't wait for the next book!

Still running strong. Read it in 2 days..
The MC is getting strong. Very strong. After all the plight and injustice this book should be rather called redemption or vengeance. Redemption fits better. This is one of the most satisfying books I have read in a while. A lot of circles close in a very cathartic way. Now that all the "development" is done I feel that next book will be about war. Epic. I can't wait.Excellent writing with a thrilling story telling.

The story is getting staid.
I'm kind on the fence about this one... Not a huge amount of stuff happened, mainly some very local scuffling, and resolution of old business. There is no longer an underdog, just a new benevolent Autocracy wherein Eric throws money at people. Nice of him but it lacks a certain drama and progression that make a story gripping.

MEEEE!
The underdeveloped hero starts taking the surface by storm, making new alliances and unexpected gains. I only hope that Master Eric doesn’t use his latest artifact, lest he lose his potential for a temporary boost...Again, most excellent writing and prose. Only took a day to read through, and eagerly waiting for more.-I’m once again thinking of Mee as baby yoda-

Book six
Mistakes: I will have to re-read this book looking for mistakes because I was more interested in the story then looking for something wrong.Plot: Lots going on as the MC gets the Monster Hunters ready for war.Characters: Old friends are reunited.9/10

Greet book.
book was great as usual. Some threads were tied up, some old characters showed up, it could use a bit more action and some more MC power up, but over all the book was enjoyable. Cant wait for the next one.

Finally the series is good again
Finally the series is good again. After the last two books that were bad the series recover with this book. Things are happening and the MC is starting to do stuff. Looking forward for the next book.

A solid book with the protagonist reaching the return home in the heros journey.
This is a bit odd to try to describe... the protagonist is sensible and is enjoyable to follow... but i think the series suffered from power creep. The first few books the protagonist was a true underdog and it worked well... but some time in the last 2-3 books they got extremely overpowered. That itself isn't so much the problem. Its a power fantasy story after all... but the antagonists are all just too utterly outclassed and the MC never even has to break a sweat facing anything which takes some of the fun out of it.

Continuing the positive building of this storyline
Another instalment in a fun and enjoyable saga of the evolution of an underdog into a world altering leader. Although this book is in some ways less dramatic than some of the previous set, it does tie up some plot lines in a satisfying manner and opens new ones ripe for exploration. I really enjoy reading the progression and am looking forward to the next book. I strongly recommend starting from the first book and getting stuck into this tale.

Awesome book
Finally we get to see what happened to the gnome queen and go back to the crooked mountains from the first book. It’s time for some well deserved revenge and it’s nice to know the character isn’t a psycho. It’s also cathartic that all his bullies get to see who he’s become and how much he has grown.

Tying up loose ends in a good way
Showdown is my favourite Underdog book so far. It's not as if I didn't enjoy the other underdog books but they tended to leave too many open ends. Things that seemed resolved somewhat hopefully (i.e. Eric rescuing the refugees or the episode in the otherworld) were revealed to have ended badly later. I had begun to suspect I was wasting my time with the series as things seemed to go from bad to worse no matter how much power Eric accumulated. Showdown shoes me that I shouldn't have worried. Eric is (finally) coming into his own as the magister of the monster hunter order and isn't constantly outclassed and underestimated anymore. This book ties up several loose ends, some of them dating from the very first book and it does so in a good way. I felt like cheering constantly. There is nothing better than a book that makes you happy and energized and Showdown is such a book.

Sure is not booring
An interestingly slow moving storry, without being boring, which is a feat and accomplishement in itself. I especially like the pace of unfolding of Events and the waiver of too much emotional outbursts and teary dramas
