I own a very old Torchiere light. Its of a style more or less outlawed because of the high heat generated by the halogen bulb it uses. Still we like it fits our decor and nothing I've seen does as nice job lighting our home. As we don't have young kids, our pets weigh less than this light and we don't have blowing drapes anywhere need it we don't see it as dangerous.After many years of service the switch in the dimmer failed. I was upset as I know we could not replace it with another so I was delighted to find the switch. It was an exact replacement for the one originally installed in the light. It works well provides even dimming and because of its electronics does not produce a hum certain types of dimmers can do.It actually uses diode to rectify the current to DC doing away with the hum and scr to regulate the voltage to the lamp.

I previously I read a review that said it didn't work on his LED dimmable lights, so i was not sure if this will work. However, it does work on my lamp LED lights.The only complain i can say is the dim goes from very low to kinda medium low.. then all of a sudden to full power high... there is no in between medium to high dim, just straight from medium to high towards the end... It still ok for me, just wished dimmer was more evenly distributed on the mid to high section.

Switch had limited dimming range (almost no low level light) and failed after about four months. Would not buy again.

Works beautifully and it's an exact match.Just what I needed. It brought my older wall fixture back to life.

Equal quality to the original that was in the lamp. Appears to be virtually the same part. Put it in a halogen desk lamp. It works but does not light until about half way turned up.

I use these to make blender lamps they work great i hide them on the back side i tried to use the multifunction switches that came with the blender the push button ones and the light would go on then go off. This switch is small can handle the amps for a light bulb works great allows you to have a dimmable blender lamp.

Light goes on and brightens after turning about half way. Before halfway zippo. It's ok but meh.
