I haven’t used a staining pad before but these are amazing. They soak up the stain and leaves a streak free finish. It makes restaining a large piece of furniture easier. When I’m done for the day I place it in a ziplock bag and it’s ready for the next day. It doesn’t leave lint or any type of debris. I haven’t had to clean one. The price is reasonable to just throw away after you finish a project and use a new one. I’ve used oil based and water based stain and gel stain with them. Highly recommend, sturdy and durable, leaving a nice finish.

Worked very well

I'm new to staining and have tried a couple projects both with bristle brushes and foam brushes. The projects did not go super well and I think a big part of it was the brushes I was using (combined with my ineptitude).For my next project, I wanted to have really clean lines and easy application so I used this sponge brush and it was so much easier to apply. I was making a long bench. At first I tried to go in one long line with the sponge, but the bench was too long and it was starting to look a little streaky. For the next coat I still went with the grain but did a back and forth motion to make sure to get into all the spaces evenly, and my husband wiped the stain behind me. This worked so much better and the lines looked so even and beautiful. And using a sponge instead of a paintbrush made it much easier and faster to apply.Staining projects are so time intensive and potentially expensive that it's worth having the right tools to make it happen - I highly recommend using this sponge. I will be buying more for future projects.

Used foam brushes that fell apart, but this sponge was great. I was able to get many uses out of one sponge, with proper storage, before it got rough. Gave me great coverage on my staining projects.
