The Ego and the Id

Just get the pdf somewhere....
Don't bother unless you specifically need to read only this Freud work, and you need it in paper. (eg if it was required reading for a psychology class or something. It's thin, despite large print. It's really a long essay, rather than a short book and I think you might as well just get the pdf online somewhere. If you're interested in Freud more widely for whatever reason, buy a larger compilation of his works that includes this essay. In terms of content, this will mainly be of interest to students of Freud/psychology - a lot of terms and impenetrable writing thrown around for most lay readers. Freud's id/ego/super-ego concepts are laid out here, and it is interesting to see them in their 'first form' - but there are much more accessible routes to understanding these concepts that have been written by others since then.

The more you read on this subject the better you will understand the states of the mind
Not a bad little book considering the size of it, packed with some good guidance. The more you read on this subject the better you will understand the states of the mind, keep reading the book every so often and you will learn it also unconsciously and will be amazed at how much you understand, of it when you pick it up again. That is how our minds work...

Freud a go go
Poor old 'id', gets a bad press, just needs a bit of love and acceptance.... just don't let it play with matches.

Exciting content
Great book, note that it is quite thin but filled with great Freudian content! The language is quite advanced and complex but great for Psychology students.
