SMITH Vantage Women's

I just received my new helmet and I could not be happier! I ordered a small at first but it was too small. I was able to return it for a medium which fit perfectly! One thing to note mine is WOMEN'S helmet. I previously had a smith helmet in a unisex medium and it was bigger than the women's medium. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE this helmet. It's very soft and comfortable and much sturdier than my old smith helmet. My old smith helmet had some issues, it looks like they've improved upon everything since i got my last smith helmet in 2014. The old helmets had an issue where the brim would kinda break and move around. I fixed mine with super glue. But I see on this new version they've just made the brim part of the same piece of plastic as the entire top of the helmet. It's not a separate piece anymore, which is smart, that will no longer be an issue. Also the knob that sizes the helmet in the back is considerably sturdier now. My old one broke the first year. This one looks way more sturdy. The thing I like best is that you can chose to ONLY open HALF of your vents giving you many different venting options. GENIUS! I am a ski coach and spend a lot of days on snow. This is a brilliant feature that should not be undersold. Thus you could ski with only the front vents open, only the back vents open, both open or both closed. Honestly this is such a good idea. i'm super excited to have more options than just "all open" or "all closed" as was the case with my old helmet. the lining is also easier to wash than the old model and I also like the carrying bag is now vented as my helmet was getting gross sitting in my locker. After doing a lot of research and getting input from experts I knew I wanted a Smith helmet. I bought this post season so I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. When I tried it on and adjusted the boa it felt very comfortable, snug and warm. I can't wait to get out there next season and use this helmet. I've been skiing for awhile and this is the first helmet I have ever purchased with the convincing of many of my friends and family (safety first). Color is great and blends with the ski outfit items that I already own. I wanted a color people could spot when you're skiing with a group but not glowing like a beacon.

The helmet delivered was a women's helmet (which, according to Smith's site, is the same size as the men's and is simply a difference in the type of padding). This should at least have been included in the description.More importantly, this listing describes it as a MIPS helmet, and the one delivered is the older, non-MIPS version, certainly not worth paying a premium for.

Fits perfectly and is so comfortable. I love the two separate sets of vents.

I have a 60cm head so the Large should have been perfect as the box says it ranges 59-63cm (felt good the store).After 15 minutes, however, I started feeling the pain. It was so tight, even with the BOA let out, I had to take it off after every run.Major headache literally and figuratively because I have to send it back and upsize.
