Perfect Companion for Sevylor Inflatable Kayak
Having bought a Sevylor inflatable kayak I struggled to find an adaptor that would go into the Boston Valves on the kayak and fit either the bicycle pump I had or a 12V air compressor that was meant for dinghies. The reason being that bike pumps are designed for high pressure, low volume and the latter was designed for high volume, low pressure. What you need for an inflatable kayak is high volume but you do need a bit of pressure too.The Sevylor Dual Action Hand Pump comes with the ability to deliver both volume and the pressure needed and the connectors to fit the Boston valves. I've seen people use these to quickly pump up kayaks although I cheat a little and use a 12v air compressor to get the volume in seconds and then switch to this pump to give the pressure needed. Having said that, I then need to carry and protect my air compressor and battery pack so arguably it would be safer and only a bit more work to use this pump to do the whole inflation.I've seen negative reviews saying these fall apart and I certainly killed the internals on my bicycle pump trying to use it to inflate my kayak so maybe intense/prolonged use of pumps is not recommended but it certainly feels sturdy and probably used sensibly they seem to fit the bill.If I noticed it starts to deteriorate I will post an update but 3 inflations in, all fine.

Sheight it could have been great!
Good and bad.... Good - works fantastically for pumping up my avon rib in very little time, great for an on board pump. Bad - No adapter to fit a leafield valve, air pipe prone to breaking it'stoo easy to over flex the pipe which weakens it quickly then it splits, the rubber seals inside are very weak they break and pop out of their housing way too easily probably due to lack of lubrication and poor design. The two things that stop this being an excellent pump are the rubber seals which need to be fixed in place and a lot stronger also they need to be user serviceable (silicone grease needed to stop those squeals and breakages), the other essential improvement would be a stronger air pipe which is flexible without being weak. Those 2 improvements would make this a solid quality pump with a 5 star rating, as it is - 1 star and I refuse to buy another one, if Sevylor made the improvements I would buy it at probably double the price.

Rubbish
It pumps well but when you unattached it from what you are pumping, it just releases all the air.pointless

Ok but there are better on here.
It’s an ok pump but it’s stiff and makes a strange noise like a whaling yak...so if you like hard work and people looking at you while you pump then this is for you.If not the buy the black one with loads of positive reviews.
