One of the truly great combat aircraft of the post war era, the McDonnell Douglas F-15A was a single seat, all weather air superiority fighter, which at the time, was one of the most expensive military programmes in history. Designed around the fighter pilot with the intention of producing an aircraft which would allow him to dominate the battlefield, the F-15 was known as the Ultimate MiG slayerrsquo;, as it provided the USAF with a fighter which was without equal in the worldrsquo;s skies and became the aircraft against which all future fighter designs would be judged. Despite being in service for more than forty years, the F-15 is still a formidable combat aircraft and is even being considered for further upgrade to keep it in front line service for many years to come. Boeing, Douglas, McDonnell Douglas, North American Aviation, A-4 Skyhawk, AH-64 Apache Longbow, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, C-47, DC-3, F-4 Phantom, P-51 Mustang their distinctive logos, product markings, and trade dress are all trademarks of The Boeing Company. Disappointing
Sold as a starter set, it does not give any pleasure in wanting to complete the model it lacks the usual finish you can expect from other members of the Airfix range, if this is your introduction to airfix you will be disappointed.. Supplied with poor quality , ill-fitting plastic components are further let down but poor instructions. It should be noted that your supplied with the option to chose either one or two seater variant but only supplied for the instructions for the one seater variant. if your planning on including the optional steps you need precision tools to complete the job. As for the supplied paints they've been in storage for so long they had gone off The glue and the brushes being the best part of this kit. This is clearly a reboxing of an earlier model which could easily lead to confusion if you've purchased other started sets , the kit does not command the 20£ price tag. On a side note a better introduction to Airfix would be the Harrier GR9 Starter set, similarly priced but easily 4 times the quality of this model.

Takes some work to get looking good
My first time doing one, Im not sure if they're all like this but takes a bit of work to make some of the parts fit together and smooth joints. Very therapeutic though.

Paint dried and unusable, twice
Brought this for my son and on the first perches 3 of the six paint pots had dried so had to return, ordered again and this time 1 of the pots had dried, so again having to return. Going to order one last time as my son really likes this plane, though I'm not very hopeful that the paint will be liquid as I think these 'starter kits' have been sitting on a shelf way too long.

Terrible. Very supprized at Airfix
Very supprized at airfix for this one. Maybe stick to ww2, cold war era aircraft.. I didnt bother finishing it as, it would have been a waste of paint, filler and sanding sticks.

The paint had solidified, totally unusable.
Need to go out and buy the paint myself now. Need to find someway of complaining to get money back as can't return as I had started the darn thing.
