I don't know why I bought this
I think that I was trying to save money because I couldn't afford a transmission jack. Here's the catch. If you want to use this to remove a transmission, you better hope that you have a hydraulic lift that lifts your car up at least 4 feet off the ground to get any useful clearance for the transmission because the profile on this is comparable to the Empire State building. If you are like me and cannot afford to buy a dedicated transmission jack and can't rent a jack because of safety regulations then you probably also cannot afford a lift that gives you that much clearance in the first place, and if you already had one for some reason. then a scissor lift is not only comparable in price, but is also way better at the job.Your best bet is calling a friend that is stronger than you and getting under it with the jack you used to lift the car in the first place and spend 2 hours wrestling the darn thing out without crushing your vital parts. The only way this would every be viable is if you cut the entire base off to reduce the profile by half.I tried saving money... and ended up losing money and shelf space because the darn thing is still there in the corner, gathering dust.

Wish I Had Bought This Sooner
I want to preface this review with the fact that I knew ahead of time that it would not fit my low-profile HF floor jack and that it would need to be modified in order to work with that setup. I was able to cut the arbor off and bore the correct sized hole in its place using my Bridgeport mill so that it would fit over the flange bolt that holds attachments to the HF jacks. This could also be done if you had the correct size drill bit, even in a hand drill. In this case I just used what I already had so as to avoid spending money on a large diameter bit I would likely only use once. I think Performance Tool is leaving a lot of sales on the table by not offering this same attachment with the correct sized hole for mounting to the HF jacks. Maybe they should offer this in the future since HF discontinued their own version. Now for the review itself. I found the transmission platform to be a good design that makes it far superior to other methods that I've used. These in the past have included using one or two floor jacks, a scissor-type transmission jack, and simply pulling the smaller transmissions out by hand. This method is far superior to all of those. Without even using the safety chain, the front drive transmission in my car was very stable and at no point did it wobble or try to fall off like all of the other non-transmission jacks I've used (also better than the scissor jack, which would try to tip over with heavier transmissions strapped to it).Another great feature of this that I used is the tilt adjustment to get the transmission and engine mating surfaces to line up perfectly. While the screw was difficult to turn with all that weight on it, it was way easier than muscling the transmission around using nothing but my own hands. Once I got everything lined up with this, it was fairly easy to get several bolts started and then proceed to slide it over the alignment dowels. The only feature I would add if I could is a screw that allows for side-to-side tilt adjustments, but it wasn't a big deal without it honestly. To sum this all up, this first transmission job using the attachment, which I performed alone, was the smoothest one I've ever done. Even with plenty of helping hands and extra sets of eyeballs around, you simply can't duplicate the features you get when you use this style of jack attachment (or an expensive transmission jack). Once you get everything where you want it, it stays there until you're ready to move it again. Attached to a heavy floor jack it's not tippy and it just works. Hopefully I'll never do a transmission without this tool again. It's a must have.

VERY STABLE JACK FOR A TOURING BIKE!
I own a 2008 H-D FLHRC (Road King Classic) and was looking for a jack that could handle this bike. When I received it, it was quite heavy (box was labeled, "Heavy object. Two person lift required." UPS had delivered it to my front door. However, I was able to drag the box to my garage, myself. The first thing I noticed was the box looked damaged with some holes appearing on the lid and at the bottom. I would recommend to Performance Tool to upgrade their shipping box. Once I opened it, I noticed things where bubble wrapped and two smaller boxes that held the hydraulic ram and the other box held the leveling bolts and tie downs. To my surprise I saw two bolt nuts just loosely lying at the bottom of the box. Thank goodness it didn't find it's way out of one of the holes on the shipping box. However, I started to wonder what parts were missing like the return spring, hex screws, or washers, after doing an inventory based on page 3 of the assembly instructions. To my surprise, after following these instructions, the "missing" items I just mentioned were already attached to the frame base already (that was a relief)! Please note that when assembling, use your metric tools (e.g., 13mm socket; 6mm hex; etc). On page 4, step 2, the ram support was already assembled and all I had to do was attach the safety lever. On that same page, steps 3 thru 6, was not needed, since the hex screw, return spring, pivot pit, and cotter pin was ALREADY attached to the hydraulic ram. Now I'm wondering if this was a returned item...oh well, I moved on to step 7 on page 5. Finally finished putting it together and it worked WELL! The most CRITICAL part is to ALWAYS align SAFETY BAR with the welded STOPS on the frame base. If you don't the bike begins to feel off balance while depressing the bigger pump pedal. It held the bike in all three positions (stops), and I tested it with the ram piston all the way down and the safety bar held it in-place (again, it's CRITICAL to "GENTLY depress the lowering lever (on the hydraulic ram ~ the smaller foot pedal) to allow the safety levers on the safety bar to LOCK in place (on the welded stops on the frame base). I've added some pictures of what I received and the use of this jack in ALL different positions. Would HIGHLY recommend this product!

Strong but no side holders or straps for the ski dollies.
Steel frames and casters seemed to be strong. However the ski dollies didn't have top wrap around to hold the skis in place. There are slots for the runners however. Also no strap to hold the ski dollies to the skis. One of my ski dollies didn't have a rubber mat on it so I will e returning it. I'll look for a different set that cradle the skis.

but realized the great risk of damaging my transmission and potentially hurting myself ...
This product has a lot of potential, but it misses the mark.I found the jack too unstable to be used for the transmission swap on my Toyota Land Cruiser. I attempted to use it, but realized the great risk of damaging my transmission and potentially hurting myself while using this product.

Broke first use today
One dolly self destructed on first use. The other two didn't break immediately. Thank you for small favours. Pay more, get less. I would suggest you ignore the "500 pound per dolly" guidance offered by the manufacturer.

Fantastic price and very handy adapter for removing transmissions.
This adapter took about an hour to assemble on the jack and fit to the transmission. The multiple adjustments really helped get a sturdy hold on the transmission which I took out with it. Unfortunately the height of the adapter requires me to lift the front end of my van still higher to get the transmission out from underneath the vehicle. My only suggestion to the design would be wing nuts to facilitate the adjustments. A great deal with Prime shipping delivered in 2 days.
