Knit Beanies: Easy to Make, Fun to Wear Paperback – June 28, 2016

While I wouldn't knit every pattern in this book, there are enough I plan to try to make purchasing the book worthwhile. There are patterns for adults and children, both whimsical and practical. I especially like the fact that the patterns are written out and not charted - I.hate.charts.There are patterns in cable, garter, stockinette, multi-color and lace stitches. The author recommends several different types of yarn which I appreciate. Though some of the hats recommend acrylic yarn, which I don't use, it is easy enough to substitute wool. What is most important is the gauge.Overall, if you want to knit a beanie hat, you are likely to find the right pattern here - from easy to more advanced.

I love knitting hats and thisbook has filled my imaginationwith some amazing beanies to make.There are five main sections of hat:Babies & KidsSock YarnWorsted/Aran YarnBulkyColorworkThe projects are varied and covereveryone from babies, kids, women & men.They are also for all different types of levelon knitter.Even a beginner can make some of the hatsin the book.The book even gives you linksto help on the GMC websitewhich can help you to learn the different stitches.The babies and kids hats are really funand interesting.I love the whale hat, it just makes you smile.Not only can you make it for newborn, baby & toddler,you can also make it for children and adults.The designs are really interesting, fun andhave so many different looks.I love the fact that you can choosea practical hat or a fun hat to make.This book really has an amazing array of hats.All the patterns are in written formatand some do include some charts.The varying levels that the hats are inreally does mean anyone can makea hat from this book.The hats also vary from slouchy to fitting beanies.They vary in colour, size and design.I would highly recommend this book!I received this book to review.However all opinions expressed are my own.No monies were exchanged.

These beanies are so diverse and interesting. There will be a design you will want to make for everyone you know. Each beanie includes darling details as well as overall stitch patterns that showcase both aspects of the designs wonderfully. My two favorites are a beanie that has a cute little bird on top and one that features acorns on the ends of tassels. Projects feature both solid and multi-colored yarns as well as a variety of yarn sizes from thin to chunky. Overall a great collection for any knitter to make lots of beanies for themselves or for gift giving.
