Couldn't put it down
I loved the characters, the action and the exciting plot. The romance was almost secondary to the story and I didn't bother reading the graphic sex passages. The book was exciting enough without them.

Fantastic!
Absolutely loved this book. If I could give it more stars I would. Love the plot, characters, setting. I was totally immersed in the story. Not too much description of setting/characters, just the right amount to inform, but not distract from the plot. It made me feel the emotional pull of the characters and what they are going through. It also made me smile, a lot. Recommend this book and the author.

Exciting
Kathryn's writing is fanatastic. The depth in which she goes to portray the characters is inspiring. The chemistry , trust and love between Wolfe and Jordan is an emotional roller coaster . There are only two niggles is that the proof-reader didn't do a good job but it easy to ignore . The other niggle is the last chapter set in our time zone. Kathryn really didn't need to do that as I feel it detracted from the passionate well written story from long ago. Although Wade Wolfe was obviously a descendant of Wolfe and Jordan it for me had no relevant value. Please Kathryn don't mix the time frames unless it is absolutely necessary . Apart from that I can't wait for the next book set in long ago eras!

The Wolfe. Settle in for a fantastic read!
This book is simply brilliant. Strong characters and supporting characters that add hugely to the storyline. The camaraderie between William and his men and the way they interact with Jordan and Jemma is one of the nicest things about the book. They are there for each other through happy and sad times. I have read numerous books from this genre and can honestly say that this one gripped me from start to finish. I usually read roughly 4 books each week and I have never written a review for any of them, so the fact I felt compelled to do so for this one shows how good it is!

Epic Tale
This is an epic tale of William de Wolfe, aka The Wolfe, well known for being one of the best and most feared knights during his time. This story is long, and as a fast reader – it still took me three days to finish. Before I go much further, this is a five star book, although I did have some issues, but it wasn’t enough to pull a star from the rating. The main story is about Jordan and William, even though there are multiple smaller stories running throughout the background. Jordan is traded off from her father to Earl de Longley, an older English border lord in order for peace. William and his knights are to retrieve Jordan and take her back to Northwood Castle. Jordan swears to do her duty, but in the process of returning to Northwood, she charms the knights and Willam. The romance is not a long drawn out affair, it is realized early enough on, but there are many dangers, battles and traitors along the way. Two of my small grievances within the book are first of Jordan, who is supposed to be a smart, educated woman, and is constantly getting into trouble of her own doing. The other thing was that there is not one romance here, there are several, but I felt cheated that I never got to witness the romances in the background except for a bit for Kieran. I fell in love with these Knights, and wanted more. This book is long, about 800 pages and one of the authors first medieval romances she wrote, although it was years before it was published. Kathryn Le Veque builds these worlds like no other I’ve read, and transports you back into medieval times along with the characters.

Really disappointing book, others books from KLV better
I ‘ll try to list the different positive (Pros) and negativ (Cons):Pros:Some nice and romantic moments and some great action and good Fun side characters. I almost preferred the side characters of the knights in this story. Not the female one.Cons:extremely too long without enough of serious story. And so many mistakes (even in a historical fiction) the behaviour in this time.Too much repetition, yes after a few pages we understand the heroin is perfectly beautiful and everyone love her, EVERYONE and all man wants her in there beds etc. but please stop this repetition, it is just annoying.I found the protagonist unlikeable. She is spoiled, manipulative, selfish, vain, and immature.I cannot believe the way the earl and then later the Kind would react by such deception, it doesn’t fit for the time. All this deceiving and everything is ok for the earl and later no punishment, anything by the King. No Way.The mix of calling the same person a baron and almost in the same sentence an earl.Always mention of the old king cannot be, if the story was in 1231, King Henry was 24, if it was 1241 (as I assumed as Jordan was born 1220 and is 20 at the begin of the story) then the King was 34. Even in that time, it was not the old man.I skipped the too often sex part (by the Jordan/Williams and the second characters)I wasn’t sure I would finish this book (and I almost always read a book until the end). The first part of the book started good just a few pages but then was boring. It only began to be interesting by the middle or 2/3 of the book. But still, it was difficult to finish.I gave 3 Stars because at least I found some of the knight sympathy (Kieran and Paris) and the relation between this brotherhood was interesting. Story could have been so much better, with less of Jordan being “beautiful, perfect, foolish, selfish and spoiled.”The “present-day” Epilogue was non necessary and a disappointment. I would have like some info to what happens with the new earl. It seems like almost all knights get their wife at the end, what with the new earl?(Spoiler Alert: One part of the book I absolutly not liked: when they meet the older brother and his wife. She cannot get pregnant and ask some personal questions on how to get pregnant. Williams and Jordan make so much fun about them. This is just disrespectable and odd, that these characters would make so much fun at the expense of their family misfortune.)For the one who like to listen to the audio book, also a big disappointment: the speed of the recording was awful. I had to change it and accelerated but then it was not ideal. I mostly read the Kindle read version and skipped much of the reading but the boring parts (many pages).I would not recommend this book, at least not as a first book from this author. This was not the first book I had from KLV, I started with “While angels slept” and later with “Warwolfe” and then all “the executioners”. I give 4-5 Stars to the series “executioners”. But “the Wolfe”, was a big disappointment. I tried to read the books chronologically by the year the stories are set (therefore the executioners are not always listed in the right order).

Superbe saga
Quelle histoire !
