I was persuaded by the reviews to order this, but was disappointed that the headset was uncomfortable in use, and the lamp unit very heavy. Even at the highest magnifications, it’s necessary to get very close to your subject - far too close for the detailed watercolour work I do.

If you have bed bugs, it is essential to monitor their activity by their tell tale signs: feces, eggs, and exoskeleton shedding. This hands free magnifIer with excellent pure white LED lights allows me to quickly scan bed sheets, clothes, or furniture, using the 1.5x + 3.5x (ie 5x), and then zero in to confirm what the item is, by adding the +8x (ie for 13x). I never have to swap lenses. The 1.5x and the 8x are built into the head lamp, and I added the 3.5x, option, so I get to choose the magnification needed by flipping between them -- so easy. The hands-free feature allows me to pull off the debris in question.On a more pleasant matter, trimming nails, both hands and feet, never went faster and with better results, than with the 1.5x lens. Seeing detail for nail trimming really makes a difference.There are an endless number of activities for which this tool would be a help. I am looking forward to using it to follow driving maps.

These are a god-send for doing my detailed work! I couldn’t be happier with my purchase; though not exactly built to last a lifetime, they are sturdy enough. I prefer the head strap, as I found with the arms, the whole thing would drop off my face when I lean forward. This unit is not light-weight but holds comfortably in place when you adjust the strap to fit correctly. There are multiple lens attachments included which click easily into place and can be tilted to suit your viewing preference. The tiny LED light is incredibly bright, and again, can be adjusted to illuminate the spot where you are working ( it requires 3 AAA batteries to operate and they aren’t included). For its price, this unit is worth it’s weight in gold! I never dreamed of such precision.
