Modern Kiwi Solid Sheer Chiffon Kimono Cardigan

I love this Kimono Cardigan! Modern Kiwi is one of my favorite brands. I can always count on them. I paired the black cardigan with a white tank top and long black maxi skirt. It really styled up my outfit. It is a once size fits all and I typically wear an XL and it fit great. The length was good on me and I'm 5'5". The sheerness is not so sheer but instead it is nice and crisp and elegant. Confession...I ordered the Olive colored one while I was writing this review for a new dress I purchased.

I was pleasantly surprised with this item. The color and fabric are just beautiful. I would like it better if it had just a bit more shape. (It does have darts sewn in on each side, but it is still a little square.) However, it meets my needs nicely as a layer to wear over a sleeveless floral dress. I typically wear a 2X, and it fits me nicely.

This is my most favorite shrug. I have been buying tons of sundresses recently & I use this shrug for more than just one of them. It's light, airy, & so very soft. I will buy more of these. Maybe every color I love them so much!

I haven't worn this yet, as it was a bit too long for the dress i thought it would go well with. I usually wear an XL in tops and it was ever bigger than those. I can't image how big it would be for someone who wears a smaller size, it being one size only. It is really pretty and fairly well made for the price, though. I just have to find the right outfit to go with it!

I Bought this to wear over a black, sleeveless dress for a tropical wedding. It was perfect for a splash of color, and covered my upper arms! It's light and airy, and runs a little big but I felt elegant wearing it. The length makes it slenderizing in my 5'2, 165 lb body-impressive!

I wish I could give this kimono a higher score, because it was a beautiful shade of red and a lovely lightweight fabric, maybe too lightweight to not be weighed down by embellishments, so I had to return it. The stitching was poorly done and it kept falling off my shoulders. I took the tag off, put it on and the minute I sat down, I heard a slight ripping sound. To my disappointment, the thread had already pulled away from where the garment was sewn/tacked together on the sides and there was a "thread-pull" already developing in the fabric. I thought about repairing/re-enforcing the stitching and living with the "thread-pull" or smoothing it out, but the price is too high to consider making exceptions for poor quality manufacturing. Maybe trim with some fringes to add weight to keep it from falling off the shoulders and use a more secure stitch that does not rip out with the slightest tension. Increase the quality or lower the price!

Looks like the picture. The black is great if you're going for that casual witch look. I was concerned about the width given that it's a one size item, but it stays on nicely and doesn't slip off my shoulders. I have a somewhat similar kimono from H&M, but the polyester is scratchier. The material of the Modern Kiwi kimono is smooth to the touch and the stitching looks good, so it's comfortable to wear and should be fairly durable as long as it's handled with care.

I bought this to dress up a plain dress for a wedding, and it did the trick. It's very sheer and lightweight. I love it, but I could have used a smaller size. It's very flowy and at times I had to keep pulling it up over my shoulder because it was falling down. But I'm not complaining. It's a wonderful staple for my closet, it can dress up anything. You can also belt it over something for a different look. I think I might try to add a little Velcro clasp just to keep it closed in the front.
