Another great one by Steve Higgs
I really love Steve Higgs’ writing. I prefer Tempest’s stories over Amanda’s (two series that meld together (two detectives in the same P.I. firm but with separate series)). I would love to see the two detectives working more closely in some stories rather than always having separate cases because I think it would be more fun. The characters make me laugh out loud and that doesn’t happen with very many authors.

Voodoo or Not?
Amanda Harper's bitten off more than she can chew when she takes on a case involving voodoo, curses, and a villain slimier than a snake oil salesman. Steve Higgs weaves a clever plot that requires the assistance of Amanda's friend Patience and two of my favorite Blue Moon characters: Big Ben and James/Jane. If you've ever imagined Amanda, Big Ben, James/Jane and Patience all nude in one room together, ta da! Higgs has written the perfect scene for you. Loads of silliness in this quick read.

Despite the name lol this was a good book. The plot and characters are interesting and well written. A little help needed in proofing but really a good story I whole. Definitely enjoyed and recommend

This is a great read, and is very absorbing.
Ex police officer Amanda is shepherding two jobs simultaneously in her last week as a serving pc. She is called, via the Paranormal investigations agency, otherwise known as BLUE MOON, to contact a young woman called Kimberly who believes that a former boyfriend of hers had put a voodoo curse on her.In order to solve the case, Amanda enlists the help of her good friend Patience Woods who is a police officer and former colleague, in finding the person accused of this crime. Kimberly states that it was an ugliness curse that was put against her and it seems to be affecting Kimberly very badly. The man who is accused of doing the voodoo is Bartholomew King. He's a nasty piece of work, who seems to have a strong influence on other people and who firmly believes that he can in fact, do voodoo. When going to interview Mr. King, Amanda runs afoul of this voodoo doctor and starts to become unwell after attempting to question him. What is happening to her?Can Patience help, even though she is afraid of voodoo and believes in its power? How can they prove Mr. King is a faker, when in fact, his curses work, causing both women to become slowly uglier, seemingly straight after rejecting his advances?Amanda and Patience set out to prove he is just a clever faker. But will both the women be able to do so, before the ugliness curse really takes hold?I liked this book for its laughs and for characters like King and Jane/James, you will understand that when you read it. It is a really fun read with a great plot and some really memorable characters. King as a character was one of those sleezy, nasty types who think the world revolves around them and I hated that and yet loved how well written he was. Jane/James was a brilliant character too...one I will remember forever I think.

Interesting and fun read
Love this series by Steve Higgs along with the other blue Moon investigation books. The characters are fun, I like Patience, everyone should have a friend like her ! The characters have developed nicely through the series.

just another enjoyable read
Each time I read a book from this series it's just as enjoyable as the one before, what more can I say.

Hugely enjoyable
A good tale told with humour. Some of the characters are larger than life but it all adds to the fun of the storyline.

Too short
The solutions to this were obvious before Amanda figured it out, so I was disappointed. I do like the character of Amanda.
