Enthralling!
This is an exceptional read. I love everything I have read by Virginia Henley; when reading her novels I feel as if I am an extention of the character. The historical content is well researched and detailed with a passion as endearing as the romance.

Story: GOODIntimacy Level: GOODEnjoyment: VERY GOODLength: 450 pagesStyle: Time Travel/ Historical / RomanRe Read 11/25/2012This was an unique read for me as it was a historial taking place within historical period. Re reading this book, the movie 300 / Spartacus comes to mind. I love that it was in a Roman/Greek time travel, why, because the slave concept made the story more appealing for that time period of Ancient Rome as they were very sexual beings and the garments were sometimes revealing. Diana lives in eighteenth century London. Unbeknownst to Diana, she has time travel back to Aquae Sulis and is now a prisoner and slave of the general where he believes her to be a spy.I loved Enslaved by Virginia Henley. I can admit I detest time travel romance as I haven't found many that appeals to me. The concept was good. It was almost like a kismet thing between Diana and Marcus. Marcus is the general who enslaves Diana and he his every bit a Greek God. I love his character and though he was the powerful general, I love how Diana could drive him crazy. I think the heroine held her own and not too many heroines can say they lost their virginity twice. I also like both connection of Marcus/Mark, won't give it away with letting the reader know the connection of both names. This is a historical time travel and I haven't read much Ancient Rome time era and would love to see present romance and or erotica books for a change with this location. This is my third time re reading it and it never gets old. Originally read in 2005

Just OK...
This book was so high rated on Amazon I had to read it myself. The story had some very high moments, but some not so great ones as well. I wasn't happy with the way the romance played out, it was very unsatisfying to me. Also, there were too many sex scenes in the book. Yea, one when the characters get together is very satisfying, but the book verged on soft core porn. I also wasn't thrilled by some of the things our Hero did, though he seemed to redeem himself... at times. Allin allthe story was great, but I wasn't thrilled with the results. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from reading this book, there were moments that were great, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Wow, Loved It
An author's ability to entice and seduce you into a story and keep you entrapped with the tale until the very end is a rare and gifted talent. Virginia Henley has it in spades with time travel stories. This very well written adventure will definitely have you hooked. Just hang on for the entire ride you will not regret it.

Always Perfect
I have been reading Virginia Henley for over 15 years and this has always been one of my favorites. Yes it’s a little far fetched of an authentic story line that she usually shows, but I absolutely love her body positivity and female empowerment... ok also the very good smut! Best I have ever read!

I couldn't wait to finish
Simply because I wanted it to end. I'm very surprised at all the positive reviews. I love time travel, fantasy, romance, etc. And yes, this has a bit of it all, except, it was utterly boring. I found myself skimming time and time again. Too wordy, (pages, and pages of what I would call 'filler' pages) And then there is the chemistry, or lack of it. There is no building of the main relationship, no character development, imo. Just pages and pages of 'filler'. I literally skimmed each chapter till the end, and pretty much missed nothing. I could skim 15-20 pages and pick right up on the story line with no problem. No questions asked. And then there is the repeat situations playing out from Marcus and his brother to Mark and his brother. Did we really need to read that whole scenario again, only in a different time? Boring. This book needed a LOT of editing. Of course, this is just my opinion. I like books that keeps me turning the page to find out what's going to happen next, not to avoid useless descriptions and repeat scenarios.Needless to say, I won't be reading Henley again. Not to my taste

How I miss the Older Authors!!
The older authors write the most original stories. I tend to go back to the older Romance books after I get sick of all the new authors and the typical story lines and characters they use all seem to blend together and become unforgettable. This is a story you will not forget, even if you read hundereds of books after, you will still remember this story.I like to see more of the older authors get their books on kindle and make sure the prices is competitive, so the new generation can experience what true writing is about.

Back in Time
Enslaved is one of the first "romance" books I read...over 10 years ago. And I've remembered it all this time. I read it again and it was as good as all those years ago. Such a powerful story of complete freedom in love that it transcends time. Virginia Henley does an outstanding work entwining history, romance, erotica and that special factor that pulls you into not pages or a story but lives. I will continue to read and collect her works over the years and lose myself again and again...

Roman Romance
Lady Diana Davenport is transported back in time to Aqua Sulis whilst trying on a roman helmut in an antique shop in Bath. There she is taken by Marcus a Roman general who thinks she is a druid spy in her strange clothes.I was rather dubious about buying this on kindle ,but I am very glad I did. This is a great unusual erotic romance, about time travel, reincarnation and timeless love, really enjoyable.

fantastic brilliant couldn't put it down
Not my usual read, don't normally like fantasy/time travel novels, however this was refreshing and brilliantly written. I love Virginias work and this has to be her best, her stories are so heart warming but also deliciously dark in places. Wholeheartedly recommend this as a must read! I'm sad to have finished it :/
