Triple Chime Clock Movement and Pendulum Kit - Clock Repair Kit - Choose A Size

My father built a "Viking" grandfather clock for us when he retired in 1975. After several rebuilds, the mechanical works finally stopped.To graft the quartz movement required removing several mounting posts on the back of the face, as well as using a jigsaw to provide swing-clearance for the new pendulum. The quartz movement is much "thinner," so the new pendulum is much closer to the front of the clock.I mounted the old weights (shells and chains) to the top of the old case using hooks. I disassembled the old pendulum to remove the weights inside of the bob. The new mechanism "swings" the old pendulum with no problem (cut-down to 32" long).The new quartz movement is bolted to the old clock-face using two, no. 1-1/4" no.12 allen bolts/nuts (center holes beneath battery case). These are at 3 and 9 o'clock position when mounted.

I love the ease of the install and the GREAT customer service. I had to call in for a spare part that my kit was missing and to ask for larger hands. The lady on the phone was very knowledgeable and helped me immediately. The sound is fantastic, I did not fasten down the speaker because I wasn't sure if I should.If you have an old grandfather clock and aren't afraid to tear it apart and keep the beauty of the clock this is the kit to add. I took all the works out of mine because many of the pieces were missing when I bought the clock for nearly nothing... adding this kit was the best thing I ever did!! Now I have a beautiful working and chiming clock for under $100.00

I like this chime movement very much..i followed directions and was sent the proper hands...I'd bought a cheaper brand first and regretted it..This is very well made and fit easily into my Bradford mantle clock....The pendulum has a lock slot if you don't need the pendulum..I would recommend this....We have 2 Bradford mantle clocks andfrom day 1 neither clock ever chimed dependably for such expensive clocks...Even after i called the company, they never tried to make it good...The clock was a gift from my husbands company for 25 years service and they accidentally sent 2 clocks and told him to keep both and neither ever was dependable...the Bradford clocks would go for weeks without chiming and suddenly start back...I love chimes but I love them dependable...This movement and chimes have been right on time so far....Worth the extra that it costs...I need one for that other bradford clock now 👍

The only reasons for only 4 stars: too early yet (just received), and see comment below:Background:I had a 28 or so year old Seth Thomas wall clock with evidently a German mechanical movement complete with escarpment & pendulum. It finally went "tot" on me as I think atleast one of the wind springs broke, and would only run for a couple of days instead of the full week as designed. I was told I'd need an entire new mechanism for perhaps what I paid for the entire clock way back when.Action:I received this electronic movement, and did a little "dental" work inside the old wooden cabinet to fit it. It's attached solely by the nut on the hand movement, although for the chime I did screw in inside the cabinet. It works fine, and am very pleased with the quality of the tone, so far.Comment:So the only complaints or improvement items I have so far is that in addition to Westminster, I wish it also played Whittington, and St Michele (sp?), as Ave Maria and Bam Bam or whatever just don't sound so great... I would have happily paid perhaps 50% more for these choices!

I purchased this movement to replace a mechanical movement in a corner clock I built 30 years ago. The movement has been operating for a week now and has kept time to the second compared to my cellphone. The chimes are one of the best electronic chimes I have heard, but not as good as a mechanical. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

When my 31day wind up mechanism broke and was not reasonable to repair I bought this clock...we missed the chimes. It has multiple audio choices as described; we kept it simple and listen to the Winchester chime on the hour with gong. With the pendulum going and hourly chimes I'll will be interested on battery life, but so far it's been 4 months and counting.

This is the second movement I've purchased for the same clock.The first one I purchsed was ~ 3 years ago and worked fine until the clock mechanism quit working. The chime still worked when you manually advanced the hour hand, but the clock mechanism quit. (Yes, I did change the battery.)I did get ~3 years of use, but it probably should have lasted longer.I do like the sound quality and the mode where you can turn off the chime at night. When everything works, it is a great movement.

The USPS delivered mine in the mail this afternoon. I was replacing a similar one in a Grandmother Clock that was on it's last legs. I'd contacted the supplier beforehand and identified the hands I wanted shipped with the movement. Directions were clear and even included what if's when it came to set the time and the mode. Within a couple of hours (You'd probably be faster) the old one was in the box the new one was installed. I initially installed a second hand.. thought it would be nice.. the tick tick drove me crazy...removed the second hand. Because it was a Grandmother clock the pendulum arm seemed to be to short, rather than abandon the pendulum added a small weight to the back side of the Bob absorb the extra energy. Runs quiet, beautiful, and the Chimes are clear, crisp and LOUD. The old movement needed the volume on full, this one is LOUD at 1/4. Really am going to enjoy this clock.
