Very impressed with the diversity in projects and skill levels
I really like that there are many projects and skill levels in this book. The spiral binding is another big plus. However, I was frustrated that I could not find the zipper length required for the child's backpack, nor could I find the size of purse hardware required for the cover purse.Although it sounded like a great idea to have a CD with PDF files of some of the book's projects, I found it annoying to spend 30 minutes trimming down the 26 pages required for the knit top pattern. That time doesn't even include taping those pages together and cutting out the pattern pieces. Hopefully the end result for the knit top will be worth all that time, but I doubt I'll even try the other two garment projects.

Ok for someone with sewing experience
I bought this at a great price, because I wanted to do one specific project (lovie bunnies!). I'm experienced with all kinds of sewing, so I was able to compensate, but the instructions were lacking. Steps left out, not really understandable. A beginner would have a lot of trouble. Having said that, everything else was great. Great photos, a good CD with patterns, and as I said, a great price.

Pretty disappointed
I'm really disappointed with this book. It states that it's for "taking your sewing projects to the next level", but there is so much missing information, I can't see how that's possible!Firstly, it doesn't list sizing info or any info on hardware (purse frame, handle sizes)When it does list materials, they're incorrect. (IE, there is piping noted as a requirement for one of the purses, but it's not used in the pattern anywhere.)And then there are the patterns. 13 are included on the CD, but they don't have the markings mentioned in the directions, and I can't for the life of me figure out where I'm supposed to find the other 12 patterns! They don't come with the book and I can't find reference to a website anywhere that they can be downloaded from. If this is a book for beginners, I would imagine that if they had to be drafted, instructions on how to do so would be included. As a result, half the book is useless.I had expected better and I am pretty bummed out.

Great gift for Novice or Expert
I've given this book to several of my sewing buddies who have various levels of experience - and ALL have raved about it. The photos help explain the overall project - but author Moebes is a natural teacher and through her narrative easily glides you through one successful project to the next. I'm going back and buying her earlier work for Christmas presents. You won't be disappointed and your crafty friends and family members will be impressed with your creativity.

Terrific Sewing-centric book
I love this book by Deborah Moebus. I purchased this as I am taking her class over on Craftsy.com and it is wonderful. She is a good instructor and I wanted to see how her books were. She has another, purchased that one too, and also love it. Cute projects, some easy, some not so, broad spectrum. If you like sewing and learning, this and her other book, are good for your library.

Thank God I have some experience with sewing. This book is not for beginners—missing steps, and poorly worded directions make it quite difficult if you don’t hav an idea about how to make the pattern.

Love this book is great
Can't wait to get started on the projects in this book. Disc is a nice addition and very helpful. Order fulfilled as quickly as anticipated.

a few niggles so far
Excited about this book being published but so far it's not been the best experience. The first item I decided to make has items missing from the list of supplies needed and no reference to the size of another item needed, and then the pattern has no markings on it when the instructions tell you to sew from dot to dot, it makes it just that little bit harder when there are no dots included in the pattern! As I work through the book, I may revise this review, but the experience so far has been a bit disappointing for the above reasons.
