IncaseDesigns Pathway Slip Sleeve for MacBook Air 13"

I really liked the size, weight and appearance of this incase, but I’ve only had it a few months and the edge is disintegrating.

I used to have an Incase laptop sleeve, which I really liked, so despite the high price I ordered this one. It took one month to reach me and I was shocked to find that the side of the laptop sleeve had literally rotten away - there were lots of bits of dried rubber floating about in the packaging, which I didn't even bother to open. There appears to be no option of returning this expensive item, so I guess the only thing to do is to throw it in the garbage can.

Pay attention to the other reviews. These have apparently been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a couple years. The rubber edge all around is completely dry rotted and will start crumbling, flaking off, and falling apart almostImmediately upon use. I used mine for a few weeks until it got so bad I couldn’t stand it. I was afraid all the powdered bits and crumbs of rubber were going to get into the ports on my laptop. I love the design of this case and really wanted to be able to use it; but it’s just unusable like this. All the other materials are great and held up fine. But, the rubber is the main structural component holding it all together. Definitely buy a different laptop sleeve!

As other reviewers note, the rubber-like material around the edge crumbles away in a rather short time. It was less than a year for this to start, then it rapidly falls apart. It is a chemical breakdown of the material, and it can't be salvaged. A better material would have lasted for many more years. Other than this failure, the case was excellent, so this is a disappointment.
