Bought these to remove broken off bolts and screws. If you are dealing with rusted in threads, first apply a penetrating oil (I use a product called "Deep Creep" made by Sea Foam. Apply the deep creep and let it set a few hours to have a chance to do it's thing. Just punch a start dimple in the CENTER of the broken off bolt or screw. You must start in and STAY in the center of the work to avoid coming out of the side into and ruining threads. Use a size smaller than the broken piece so you woun bugger the threads. Put your drill in reverse as these are reverse style drill bits. Drill into the broken screw or boly lengthwise. Many times as you drill into the broken piece, you will find that the bit grabs the work and just unscrews the broken part - job done. If you drill completely through the length of the broken screw or shaft, just go to the next size up drill bit and go down thru again.

First use was on some mounting bolts for some hard lines on the stick of a Hitachi ZX470, worked a lot better than had anticipated on the four bolts two caught and zipped right out, one caught and I could feel the threads catching but the bit didn’t break and the last one I had to use an extractor but was able to drill through it with pretty minimal effort even resizing the hole for the extractor was a breeze.

Worked as designed when I needed to get a broken bolt out of a tire machine.

Haven't used the LH bits yet but D. Hog makes superb RH bits so I thinking they'll be just as good!!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW!!! I bought this product due to it saying that they are lifetime warranty. I broke about half before I sent them in to save on shipping and that was over 2 months ago. I sent it to the warranty addressed with all the return information needed and wrote them 3 emails and there has been no response. I am considering these a loss and will be getting my drill bits from another source that will warranty bits. I would not recommend getting these unless you do not extract alot of bolts for a mechanic not so good homeowner should be fine.
