Does the job!
Said it would pump 8 ft but I think it will do even better. My hydroponic tower was 7 feet tall and I still had to put on the lowest setting. Its a good pump!

Works as expected
Had to return two 550gph pumps that moved less water than the 400gph pump I was replacing. This pump is doing the job great so far. It's been over a month so far, hoping for the best.

Efficient but too large for our fountain
We got this fountain pump to replace one that had failed. Everything about the pump is great...except for its size. The pump is supposed to be completely submerged, however, this particular one is a bit too tall for our garden fountain. I have reordered a shorter version.

If you want to make your spouse happy buy this pump!
I ordered this pump on past reviews with having power. We have a very large fountain that most pumps, that fit it, can not handle. The reviews were right. It is powerful and IT WORKS. My wife is happy now.

To pump to a maximum height of 12 feet, you must have the pump submerged 4 feet.
To pump to a maximum height of 12 feet, you must have the pump submerged 4 feet. I am using the pump as a continuous pumping pump with an additional high volume pump activated by a float. The pump was advertised as having a 12 foot maximum height pumping capacity. That was the pump that I needed. However, the pump must be submerged in four feet of water to achieve this discharge height of 12 feet. I was not happy with my purchase.

Using this on a fountain in our side yard next to the patio. Very powerful and quiet.

Pump did not work...
Purchased this 880gph pump for a 100 gal trough. With the heat in Texas thought if the water circulated it would not be so hot. Well, could not test this theory because pump did not work. Very frustrated, returned for refund.
