Great for shower curtain rod holders
Works great as a holder for shower curtain rod. Needed to purchase four 1 1/2 inch, #6 stainless screws and hollow wall anchors to mount them on tiled bath. The included screws were to short for anything but direct mounting to wood.

Solid, well made, but beware of hole locations
Love that I can use 1.5" dowel for a closet rod, these are solid and have a good finish. Two things I would change: mounting holes in the same position on each end and a hole in the open end for a screw to lock a rod in place. About the holes: if you measure position vertically to drill holes on each end the rod will slope, because the holes in the open end are offset by about a 1/4 inch. Measure carefully with the rod in place using a level. About securing the rod: it's not a big deal but if you are using a wood rod, other designs will let you put a small wood screw through a hole in the side of the open end piece to lock the rod down. Without a screw the rod can bounce up and I've seen them pop off when someone is too aggressive with a hanger (i.e. teenagers). With this design you either have to accept the rod being loose, or put a dollop of adhesive inside the open end to hold the rod.

Sturdy.
Ok... not much to say here honestly. these are the end pieces for a closet pole. the one's that are installed are usually plastic... mine were. These are metal, MUCH tougher and a little longer than the plastic ones... which means that the pole has to deflect that much more before sliding out of place. between these and the reinforced brackets hopefully the closet pole will no longer "fall down" due to clothing weight.

Better
I used these to replace a pair of plastic, single-hole pole sockets that broke after being loaded with a small closet's worth of clothes. These are steel and feature not one, but two, screw holes, resulting in a much more solid connection to your closet framing. Installation was very quick (simply hold in place, mark holes, drill holes, and screw socket down). They've been installed several months and haven't failed yet.Highly recommended if you're having closet hanging pole issues.

Perfect replacement for a less sturdy closet rod holder
My wife's closet rod holder broke under a fair amount of weight. These are a perfect fit and replacement for the cheap plastic ones. They are made of metal and will likely hold up under a direct tornado hit and/or excessive clothing. Honestly, these are outstanding.

Works great, a little pricey for what you get
It's a pretty basic product. But it's well made from metal. Much better than the wooden and plastic versions. I've replaced dozens of those over the years after they inevitably fail. This product was easy to install and should last forever. Only complaint is that it seems a bit pricey for what you actually get. I think a price point around $6-7 would be more reasonable. In any case, we needed it fast. It came in one day. And it works great.

Just what I needed!
Needed wall brackets for one of those adjustable tension closet rods with the approx 1.25" wide rubber feet on the ends. I wanted something metal because I like to over-engineer things rather than find out the hard way later that it wasn't strong enough... oops. This was exactly what I needed. Installs in minutes with a couple screws and a bubble leveler. Will definitely buy more of these!

Extremely Sturdy Replacement
Why plastic was used for these brackets years ago is a mystery to me. These sturdy metal ones will last forever. So easy to install and deeper than the plastic ones so I'm not worried that the rod will come down. The old plastic ones had been in use for 30+ years and cracked and broke unexpectedly one day. That won't happen with these.
