A Very Good Product
I got this vest to use as a photographers vest and I couldn't be more pleased. The fit was almost perfect, the large was just a bit big for my 42 inch chest, but not a problem. There are plenty of pockets for all the gear I need to carry including two large pockets that fit my telephoto lenses. The two large pockets have zippers that extend across the top of the pocket and down one side of the pocket, making for an easily accessible, yet secure storage area. Other pockets have Velcro closures. The mesh provides ventilation which was much appreciated recently as I did a shoot out in a meadow on a hot June day. I lowered the rear solid cover and the remaining mesh kept me quite comfortable, certainly not the case if it had been solid fabric, but I could always raise the solid panel in the back if I wanted a bit more warmth. The panel folds easily into it's own pocket in the rear of the vest. There are two D rings, one behind the neck and one on the shoulder for attaching a clip that could hold a hat or anything else you desired. The clips are adequate plastic and are sturdily attached to the vest. The vest is also fairly light in weight which makes it comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.I might add that the seller, who seems to be the manufacturer, contacted me right after the sale to make sure I was pleased with the product.I am sure this vest would be excellent for fishing as well, and it is great as I photographer's vest. A very good product.

Great vest, runs small.
This is a well-designed vest, with an entirely removable back panel for ventilation in the heat. It is light weight, and has the required numerous pockets and features. I am a novice fisherman, so I cannot comment much yet on the total function, but the technical layout and construction seem very good. In reading other reviews of numerous vests, I've learned a lot, and certainly enough to appreciate this one. It will spend a week in Florida fishing with me, and after that I may write additional comments, but for the moment I am VERY happy I chose this. The only caution I have is that they run VERY small. I normally wear a men's XL t-shirt, so I purchased an XXL vest to allow room for a jacket, but it was too small to even zip closed. So I had to exchange it for an XXXL. That fits and will work fine.

Nice light vest with lots of pockets
This vest has the right weight, the right pockets and the right colors. I use it primarily for photography. The vest has a similar number of pockets to the Rothco Uncle Milty, which I have used for years. The Milty is better built, but is made from a cloth and almost three times as heavy, (worse when it absorbs water). It is also not as well ventilated as the Autumn Ridge for Summer. Stil, two things keep the Autumn Ridge from perfection.First, the Velcro on the pocket flaps seems a little dicey. There is not a big enough hook and loop patch there to be confident it will stay closed in field conditions, and I have had pockets pull open and spill when I am not careful putting the vest away. I found a $120 XQD card (Nikon loves those pricey things) loose in the trunk of my car under the vest.Second, I am not sure about the sizing. I am 6’3” 190 lbs, and I usually wear a large tall. I bought an XL, because I wanted this one to go over my winter wear. It seems a little large, even for that. The shoulders of the vest extend well past mine even with a puffy coat. I like the padding in the shoulders a lot, but I am not sure that is the way it was supposed to fit. It is definitely too large for me without a sweater. The specs only show the Large as having 1/2” smaller shoulders—not much difference.I don’t expect perfection for this excellent price, and after I use this XL vest for the Winter, I may buy a large or medium for the Summer. At this price, I can afford more than one.

awesome vest
this is an amazing fishing vest I did a lot of looking for the perfect vest for my husband for a birthday present. He is not a fly fisherman so he did not need the short vest this vest is so well thought out (his words) and he is thrilled with it One note....and my fault...I am returning the large and reordering the X-large The large fits perfect (he is 6 ft and 200 lb) but to layer it over a jacket this winter or if you really stuff the pockets (and there are a ton of pockets) do need to go up a size The seller states this and I did not read far enough into the details Great seller also They follow up with an email to make sure you are happy!!

This Vest Deserves to Be Patented!
For several years, I've used photo vests in place of a camera bag, to carry 1-2 extra lenses, some accessories and maybe a compact camera when I go shooting. I also use them on international trips when I'm in the air over 20 hours and want control over my passport, wallet, phone, travel docs and cash without having to pack them in a carryon.I've bought or tried out a lot of vest and the Autumn Ridge vest is clearly the best. Its thoughtful touches such as the padded shoulders, the removable cloth back and the two "Napoleon Pockets" for my passport, wallet and phone, is nothing short of brilliant. Since I received it yesterday, it's too soon to say whether the zippers (the are lot of them) and the ventilated sections of the vest will standup to 30-60 days of heavy use each year, but I'm pretty sure -- from the note that the company sends to every purchaser -- that if there are any problems the company will stand behind me.I also like that in most sections of the vest, the design gives you a choice between using a higher-security zipper pocket, and a convenient velcro pocket. I don't miss the common slash pockets on each side, or the "wallet-pockets" on the inside since the many other pockets render these redundant. I also appreciate that, unlike many other travel vests on the market, there are no too-narrow or too-small pockets that I suspect are on most other vests to raise the total count of pockets.I think this best is Best in Class regardless of the price, and pricing it below $40 makes it a tremendous bargain as well.
