Great On The Go Heat!
One's individual thermostat varies from person to person. With this unit one can cater their own comfort level to their own liking. Why heat rooms where there not being used. It's so whisper quiet. A regular gas furnace is so expensive and noisy to operate. I haven't gotten the electic bill yet so as a cost saving measure is yet to be determined. The portability factor is fantastic, so light one can carry it room to room. The ionic feature is a definite added plus. I wish I had purchased this type of unit years ago. So far, the temp on the unit has not gotten over seventy two degrees, which is perfect. The settings do allow a ninety degree setting, however anything to toasty could be cause it to overheat. One can set the timer for one hour or more, which helps as a cost saving measure. It's really nice to set the timer and drift off to sleep. Just ideal for a bedroom/bathroom size. With a living room size, it has to run more than four hours to warm up the area. People have ingrained in their minds that a "space heater" is a fire hazard, not so with the new ones on the market, this one there are no exposed coils that glow. I definitely would buy another one sometime in the future. Electric heat is so much cleaner, no dangerous carbon monoxide fumes and no maintenance costs. The remote is also handy. Invest in one you won't be disappointed.

It's too soon to know everything but so far, so good
I think the details have already been discussed. Fact is, I don't even have the battery in the remote because I have no need for the remote at this point. I can already tell that this heater isn't going to be great in a large room but it will take the chill off. The room in which I know use it is small enough that I can run the heater on low, turn it off for awhile before turning it on again. I also know that I could program it to think for me but at this point, I'll stick to the on off method. Frankly, I do wish there was more play to the directionality. Take a look at the image of the heater and you will see what those who have commented about heating the ceiling mean. The image shows the blades (whatever) in the lowest setting and you can see that with the tilt of the fan, the lowest adjustment is not that low. Interesting. That kind of falls into the what were they thinking category. I'm not too worried because I rotate heaters out after a few years as they begin to draw more current. In a few years, I'll select a different design but at this point it is working pretty well for my needs in this room. I'll give it a test downstairs (larger, colder space) in a month or so and report back on that performance. Addendum Although I said I'd move this heater to a larger space, I didn't. I will tell you that I do like the ion feature and that it did work well for me in this particular room.

Great overall room heater.
Our normal heating costs an arm & a leg. Until I can afford to fix it I use this space heater. My downstairs living space is +/-300 sq feet and has a large poorly insulated sliding glass door. I wake up in the morning and usually the downstairs temperature is around 58-60 degrees (Northern California - January). It will raise the temp of the room by at least 10-11 degrees within an hour. I run warm and it's a pretty large space, but I'm sure if your space is smaller the heat would be even greater. Really like the product.

Looks great and is reliable but it needs more oomph
Not as powerful or quick as it claims to be. Looks great and is reliable but it needs more oomph!

Heats Ceiling Well
I purchased this heater for our finished basement, specifically to use while watching television. I thought this was of sufficient size to heat a portion of the basement, but more importantly the people watching tv. However, when seated on the couch (the usual position for tv viewing) this heater doesn't direct any warm air to the couch. Despite placing the heater about four feet from the couch, this only directs heat above the people seated on the couch. If I stand up, I can feel the heated, warm air above the couch. But seated, you cannot tell the heater is on. Due to the nature of warm vs cold air, the warmth never settles down on the couch. (Note: I realize I could move it closer to the couch so that some of the air hits me, but that would make this a very large personal heater, rather than a room/space heater. I wanted something that would heat multiple people in a certain space. I would not pay this much, nor allow this much physical space to be taken up by, a personal heater.) The vent is situated on an upward angle facing the ceiling. Using the sliding knob on the vent (to direct the air downward) does not help. The lowest angle you can achieve is about fifteen degrees, but even then the majority of the air is still flowing (unobstructed) towards the sky. This heater is only effective if you will be positioned above the vents. I had assumed the air control knob would have allowed a more downward flow of air, but I was mistaken. I am returning this unit. I have another Lasko heater and I love it, but this one is not ideal for my (and presumably most) situations. Please note, the amount of heat it produces is great. However, it is aimed at an inconvenient angle for being seated. In addition, it makes a negligible amount of noise, so that's nice. Overall, this product is good at producing heat in a relatively silent manner. But the heat is directed at an inconvenient angle for most applications where people will be seated at a position equal to or lower than the vent.

Excellent Space Heater
We purchased this heater to supplement a whole house system during a brief stay with relatives in a large basement approximately 3,000 square feet. The basement was not divided into rooms, making it even more difficult to continuously heat, especially in New York with an outside temperature of less than 20 degrees. While this heater won't make you sweat. In that environment, we have no doubt it would in a small apartment. For the price, this heater is an absolute beast and the air purifier that comes built in makes the price point even sweeter. Don't waste your time with the cheaper units, this heater has proven itself worthy.
